I've been trying since Sept 12. Had tests done (me and dp) after 12 months, all fine. Fell pregnant Nov 13, but miscarried just before Christmas. Been trying since and every month we are unlucky.

Is acupuncture worth a try? Anyone found it useful?

Should I go back to the doctors or because I did fall pregnant will they not do anything?

Oh, I'm 32 by the way.

Any help/advice will be appreciated.

Who did these tests on both of you originally?. What tests were carried out on both of you?.

Would not bother with acupuncture currently; you need a diagnosis first and foremost. Both of you equally may be contributing to the subfertility. I would not assume it is yourself solely who has the subfertility problem.

Re tests you really need up to date test results now, anything done over 6 months ago should be discounted. GP should refer you to a gynae specialist at a subfertility unit.

Thanks. Had day 4 and day 21 blood tests, dp had sperm test. Wasn't sure if I could go back up the doctor yet as we did fall pregnant 8 months ago. Heard good things about acupuncture and just willing to try anything really.

Hi Morganlove, I have just started having acupuncture (have my second session next week) and have some Chinese herbs to take. I read the book 'The baby making bible' which talks about the benefits of acupuncture for fertility. It's too soon for me to say how useful it is but I certainly found my first session relaxing and am feeling very positive about it.

Thanks Aprilray. Really no idea what to do right now, doctors or acupuncture- or both? Just don't know how many more months I can cope with the heartache of AF turning up.

Ive been having acupuncture sessions since Jan, I think its helped with lengthening my cycles and the PMT symtoms I get.. im now having it alongside our first IVF cycle and I think its helped deal with the drugs. Ive certainly had less side effects that friends whove gone through it

I defo think you should go back to the doctors and get referred for further testing

I used acupuncture about 2 months to regulate my cycle and then with clomid. Got my BFP although not sure what was the deciding factor. Was amazing for stress and helping my cycle go from 38 days to 28

Friend got pregnant recently at 41 using accupuncture. She had been trying for a while, and feels the accupuncture helped. (She went to a well known London clinic that specialises in accupuncture for conception). I was having it anyway when I was trying to conceive, but i did mention it to the man doing it, and he did something slightly different to normal, bish bash bosh I was pregnant. So I would suggest you have it alongside any further tests you may need, as it may help and it certainly won't have a negative impact.
