TTC after mirena coil

I had mine out 2 days ago. What should I expect?

I expected a bit of spotting/bleeding as a result of having it out but I am having really quite a lot of bleeding - is this a period already? Or do I need to get checked out?

Also, how long did it take for your cycles to come back/regulate and if you conceived after a mirena how long did it take you?

I would be grateful to hear the experiences of others.

Thanks.

had mine out, period came straight away as was due. Conceived 2nd month. had had coil in for 3 - 4 years. Good luck!

I had a period almost straight away, then conceived right after-never had another period since and ds is now 12! (Yes I've had mirenas since he was born!)

I had a very heavy period within the first week of having my Mirena out and I was pregnant 4 weeks later Smile

I'd had my Mirena in for just under 3 years.

Thanks everyone Smile
I don't know why but I was expecting a load of doom and gloom stories so this is good to hear!

Hi Shetland, I'm having mine out hopefully this week and then planning tc. Wad it painful to be removed? Also happy to hear success stories. Good luck.

I had a lot of bleeding after having it in 5 years. About two weeks worth, quite heavy.

Cycle took 2 months to regulate, got pregnant 5th month- so 7th month after removal.
