longer to conceive after mmc?

I conceived my dd the 1st natural cycle after coming off the pill.

Finally worked up the balls 2 and a half years later to have a 2nd and conceived in the first cycle. That ended in a mmc and erpc in January, discovered at 14weeks Sad We waited for my first period and have been ttc again ever since (5th cycle now).

I know that's no time really and I know how lucky I was to conceive so easily before. But, I've just not felt quite the same since the mc -random v mild cramps, a new 'awareness' that my insides are there iyswim, but nothing I can pinpoint as a symptom aside from slightly longer cycles- and I'm starting to panic that there's something wrong.

I think this is an irrational fear, based on frustration and the realisation of how complacent I was after my 'easy' conception and pg with dd. But irrational or not, I'd appreciate some reassurance from mners wiser than me, or just some company from those who are experiencing similar. x

I experienced the same.

I conceived DC #1 first month of trying. DC #2 third month of trying. DC #3 first month of trying.

Conceived in fourth pregnancy first month trying - MMC (discovered at 13 weeks, baby stopped growing at 5 weeks).

We were then TTC again for the following 18 months. Cycles were longer and I also had fewer ovulation symptoms. I worried. TTC became stressful so we stopped trying and had a 6 month break.

Good news though. After the TTC break, we then conceived first cycle when trying again - 23 months after last conceiving.

Very stressful early pregnancy but started getting easier from around 22 weeks. I am now 27 weeks and due in September :-)

Congratulations!

They estimated baby stopped growing at 7 weeks (around my 30th birthday) The thought that a mc could be missed for so long really scared me.

I wonder about taking a break, but also feel like I'd be putting my life on hold.

Thanks for you story, what s funny thing this ttc lark is! I feel like if I hadn't had it easy before, I wouldn't be so worried now, so I have no right to worry yet!

"The thought that a mc could be missed for so long really scared me"

One of these glass-is-half-full or glass-is-half-empty things.

I view it that my body was very good at being pregnant and so held on to caring for and looking after that baby for as long as possible.

I love that way of thinking of it, I'll try to adopt it! Thank goodness for modern medicine though.

Hope the rest of your pg goes smoothly x
