Would you say this is a +OPK? I'm on CD 9 today.

Ladies I need your opinion - do you think this is a +OPK??

For me that would be a negative, I'd say you'll probably get a positive in the next few days.

bonzo77 · 18/06/2014 12:36

No. The test line needs to be at least as dark and preferably darker than the control one. Agree that it should go positive soon, I'd test 2x a day till it does as it's easy to miss. I'd test at lunch time and again about 6pm.

Here's a pic of one of my +opks.

It's very close! Mine have never got much darker than that, and certainly nowhere near as dark as metalheads haha! If you test later today as well as tomorrow morning you should get a positive :)

Life2012 · 18/06/2014 21:10

Thanks hanflan that's really helpful - I tested again at 6pm and hit same result. Test line definitely not darker or same as control line !! Hoping for tomorrow to get a +ve as planning DTD tonight (we are trying every night this month and see how it goes) Wink

life when my line gets that dark, I turn to cb digi and sometimes get the smiley; sometimes not. It may not be positive but it equally may be. I'd be getting to the dtd. What's your usual ov day/cycle length?

Life2012 · 19/06/2014 18:43

Hi m33r that's interesting - we have been DTD every night this week as CM has showed me signs of ovulation between Tuesday and today and OPKs have been giving me these semi +ve results since Tuesday! I attached another pic with the results for today (top AM and bottom PM) looks the same as yesterday to me if not lighter but CM has changed today and it's reducing (sorry for TMI) . My normal cycle length is about 30 days but I think I ovulate around CD 9/10 - this is our second month TTC number 2, with my first I got pregnant by accident first go but if I remember correctly it was again At the beginning of my cycle. I'm so confused Confused

life, if this isn't your month, I'd invest in the cb diggie. You only need three a month as I only crack them open when the line is quite dark. As soon as I get my smiley I stop using them. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Metalhead · 20/06/2014 08:35

I second what m33r says! And once you know what a +ive looks like on the ICs when you've doubled checked with the CB digis there'll be much less second guessing next time.

Life2012 · 20/06/2014 09:01

Thanks ladies that's really really helpful - I tested again this morning and I got a positive, I think Hmm as it looks as though both lines are the same colour today. So I might pop out later and go and buy some CB digis for next month. I'm unsure whether I have ovulated or not this month as I got all the ovulation symptoms right at the start of my cycle (CD 5) but nothing now even though I'm getting semi +ve. All very confusing Confused

Yep I would count that as a positive! At least that's what mine look like and I managed to get a bfp so I must have ovulated haha. Go and get jiggy! hahaha

Life2012 · 20/06/2014 10:11

Thanks hanflan will get busy tonight then - just hoping my almost 2 year old doesn't tire me out too much today!! Does a positive normally mean I'll ovulate in the next 12/24 hours? In which case busy weekend ahead of us Wink

OP posts:
hanflan · 20/06/2014 11:30

Yes, although don't forget that sperm hangs around for longer than that anyway, so if you dtd tonight it would cover it and they would be waiting ready for the egg. If you do have time (and energy) to do it again tomorrow then that would be extra good luck haha.

Rainbow555 · 20/06/2014 11:40

This is very helpful! Not use them before and so just started this cycle. Confirms what I thought, a negative earlier will keep testing and look out for that darker line! :) getting jiggy all the same ;)

Life2012 · 20/06/2014 11:58

Thanks again hanflan I really appreciate your advice. We DTD on Wednesday skipped last night and will do again tonight and tomorrow! Just taken another OPK at 12pm and again +ve so definitely gearing up to something!! Lots of baby dust to everyone and rainbow I posted another photo of the two +ve OPK from today (the test line actually looks lighter on photo) hope we all get our BFP soon Smile

Thanks for this thread Life as I've just invested in the internet cheapie sticks and was wondering what they'll look like when I crack one open. This will be my main obsession starting this weekend.

Ahhhhhh, isn't it all just so romantic to schedule your DTD this way?

So little update from me got a 3rd positive yesterday and hubby and I got busy last night (romance out of the window but we both want this v much) !! Tested again this morning and negative plus my temp has dipped - fingers and toes crossed my TWW begins next week.

How are you getting on squattingNeville it seems like you're heading in the tight direction!?

Lots of baby dust 2 everyone - hopefully we can start posting pics of +ve PT soon Smile xx
