I am looking to come off of my pill in September. I have been on it since the age of 16 without a break (16 years).

One friend took 3 years, one took two months!
I have read on average it takes one month per year of taking the pill for it to not be effective in your body.

I know it's different for everybody and have read conflicting information on the internet but any one in a similar situation here? How long did it take for you?

It is different for everyone, there is no real guideline for this.

I have heard that one month for every year thing and don't think it's true. Was on pill for 5 years and got preg in 2 months. After having baby took for 2 years and now on month 3 of ttc! Some women get periods straight away and some take 6 months and others fall a few weeks after the last pill. Really is hugely different for everyone. Babydust for September Smile

I was taking it for 5 years but developed serious side effects stopped it immediately after hospitalization, got pregnant 14days later!!!! Unplanned was going to get a copper coil fitted but tested positive the day I was going to have the coil fitted....talk about bad luck!

I think everyone is different.
