Very early ovulation possible?

Hello,
I have a 20 month old and am just starting to try and TTC number 2. My periods came back 4 weeks after birth so I'm well in to a regular cycle. Towards the end of my period I find I'm getting really weird pains and cramps. My first child was conceived very early on in my cycle and I wondered whether it is possible that I am ovulating really, really early.
Does anyone know anything about this?

It may be worth buying some cheap ovulation testing sticks from Amazon to tell you when you ovulate. My cycles got shorter after dc1 and it confused things for a while. I was ovulating on day 8 of 22.

Once I had it figured out it made ttc easier.

Have you considered temping? That really helped me to pinpoint ovulation.
