What could this be? A bit worried it could be an ectopic :/

Hi.
My last period was 3 days late. I have always been pretty much spot on the date I am due to start. So on day 2 I did two pregnancy tests, first one failed but the second one was a bfn. Then my period arrived the next day and lasted for yhe usual 6 days.

I am now 2 weeks later on from the end of the period and I am bleeding. It was bright red when it started (after sex) at around 4 hours ago but is now a very dark brown and less of it.

Thinking back I did have some mild stabbing cramp type pain on one side of my lower stomach a few days ago. I have it now again.

Has this happened with anyone else? Not sure what is happening.

Hi Imac, I had a very similar experience to you when I started ttc.
I usually have a regular 28 day cycle and then on my first cycle of trying I was three days late.
On my second cycle of trying I started bleeding on day 20 - never been more than a day early in my life. At first I got my hopes up thinking it was implantation bleeding but then it got heavier. Had really bad cramping too but all across my lower stomach. I saw my GP just to be on the safe side and he ruled out an ectopic pregnancy - he said you would still get a positive pregnancy test if it was ectopic so it may be worth doing another test. Turns out it was just a very odd cycle for me, I had been stressed which may have caused it. I hope this helps.
