TCOYF Software - preferences?

Morning ladies, I was wondering if someone can help, I am finding the TCOYF software a bit confusing at the moment and am wondering if it is something to do with the preferences I've chosen.

Over the last few days, my temps have been the following (they are normally around 35.8 or 35.9 pre OV):

CD16 36.2 (positive OPK)
CD17 35.9 (positive OPK)
C18 35.9 (I think and software recognises that this was day of OV)
C19 36.6 (software ruled this out under Rule of Thumb)
C20 36.2
C21 36.2

The software is saying I might have OV but that there was no thermal shift?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

It depends on how regular your cylce is, is it possible that you might ov later in your cycle? It appears that the rule of thumb was implemented as the next day your temp dipped. I ditched the software because of it being to complicated. I downloaded a sheet and used that instead, that way you can see it at a glance and immediately detect changes? HTH

it takes a few cycles to recognise your temp patterns
Have you set it so that it auto changes temps taken at differing times?
If you are sure of your O date (I always was) you can overrule the date and set the Ov date

Thanks ladies. When I compare this chart to the last one, it could be for someone else, it is so different. That said, this is only my 3rd cycle after coming off the pill. I did not use OPKs last month and the software never recognised me as having OV though I know I did! I did set it to change temps depending of times before but then realsied that my temp does not actually change all day (that said, I always temp at the same time everyday anyway. I was just surprised that the Rule of Thumb crossed out my expected high post Ov thermal shift temp. I know that it went down by .4 the next day but even then it was much higher than my pre ov coverline.

I overuled the ov date this month as I had my jab (the software didn't recognise it tho).

I have several 'rule of thumbs'....what is it??!!

My temperature shot up to nearly off the chart this morning!!!!

Something to do with lots of wine last noight maybe??!!

yep booze does do that, help me understand why i feel so ill. LOL

PizPizPiz · 01/09/2006 14:12

Grils, I think you should go to the Help section of the software (top right), click Contents and then scroll down to Temperature and Time Preferences.

I've got a question......

....TCOYF software said that my AF was due today.
I put in some data for today (temp etc.) and it changed it's mind and said that AF was now not due until FRIDAY!!!!!

How can it move on five days????!!!!
I am confused!!

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2006 09:55

Coggy - that is exactly the kind of thing I mean! Have you put in your average luteal phase or are you using the average woman's calculation? mind you unless you have changed your preferences, it should not have recalculated. Very odd. Sorry for being no help at all!

I think it first calculated my AF arrival based on my LP from last month (only one month of data to go on) and then when my temps were still high the day before it switched it to be the same cycle length as last month.

I'm also quite confused as I don't seem to have a coverline for my temps.
I thought it'd give me one at the end but there is nothing!!!
What's your coverline?

MrsMcJnr · 07/09/2006 10:42

The coverline thing really confuses me! I did not get one on my first chart either. On this chart, it has changed 3 times and is currently at 36.55.

What is the point of it? I can see that my last 6 temps are under that so why do I need the coverline? The help function doesn't really assist. Unless my chart is waiting (hoping) I get over that coverline to see if I have a triphasic chart?

When I was trying to read up a bit on the software yesterday, it referred to temps being red rather than blue and that these are meant to signify a thermal shift. I don't understand why I don't have any as CD17 & 18 temp was 35.9 and the CD19 was 36.9 - day after ov!

I never bothered with the software. working the pen and paper graphs puts you in control and it sounds like the software has got some of your initial data incorrect.

coggy · 07/09/2006 10:58

At least you have a vaque coverline!!!!!!

Mine totally disappeared!!!
My temps have been higher since having AF than they were after ov????!!!!!

Now I rememeber why I gave up temping last time!!!!!!

coggy · 07/09/2006 11:00

Aaaaargh!!
This is the only thread my PC will load properly so I can't post anywhere else!!!

I will go away..............do something useful and return later...........calmer and in control!!!!!
