Planning a baby advice?

I already have a gorgeous little boy from a previous relationship. My son was not planned at all, I was quite young and missed a pill or two. Me and my ex were hardly together either. And that was that, I was having a baby and he's the best thing that ever happened to me :)

Nearly 4 years later I am in a new long term relationship and we are planning a baby. It sounds daft but it seems all new to me. I am having my Mirena removed this week and hope to get pregnant pretty quickly.

  1. Should I start taking folic acid if I'm going to start trying.
  1. How often should we have intercourse and what positions are best to conceive (sorry tmi)
  1. How do I know my most fertile days? I haven't had a period in a long while with the Mirena and even before that I've never had a regular cycle. From the age of 14 when I started having my periods there could be 2-8 weeks between each period.
  1. Anything else?

  1. Lots and lots, don't stress about positions or planning too much atm, just have fun.
  1. Plot your next few cycles but as with 2. Have fun too.
  1. Just relax into it and don't have any expectations atm.
