nfp whilst breastfeeding - crazy cm, can anyone help?

Hello everyone! I am ttc whilst breastfeeding my 12-month-old daughter - not had a post-partum period yet. I did quite a bit of research on nfp (in particular the billings method) in the last few months because I wanted to know when my fertile phase begins again.
Sorry for the tmi in advance! Well, after the post-birth bleeding, I was completely dry, no cm at all, up until February this year (birth was April 2013). In February, I started getting small amounts of EWCM-like mucous. It came every day and was only ever a small amount and only a little stretchy, but clear.
A few weeks ago, the mucous changed. It dried up for a week or two. Then, I got yellowish, thick and unstretchy mucous for 2 days, followed by a large amount of classic EWCM for exactly 1 day. After that, all cm dried up completely and I had exactly 7 dry days. Ever since the last dry day, I've had medium amounts of white-ish, long streaks of mucous, which aren't very stretchy.
Well, the large amount of EWCM was 2.5 weeks ago now. I assumed when I had it that I'd finally ovulated, especially as it all dried up completely afterwards. However, 2.5 weeks later there has been no period and about 4 pregnancy tests (taken 13, 14, 15 and 16 days after the suspected ovulation) have come back negative.
Has anyone else had something similar? I understood cm to be a relatively reliable indicator of fertility. But I have no idea what's going on now! I'm a bit confused as I was so certain that I had ovulated. Can anyone help me or explain what that could have been?
Thanks in advance, essre
