We have made the decision to go for number 3 and I am having my coil removed next tuesday.

How long do I have to wait before I can try to conceive? I don't remember from having DD1 to DD2

Good luck I hope you 'get lucky' quickly.
Sorry no advice about how long you may have to wait.

Hi Tegan. I'm having my coil out on Friday ready to start working on No. 3. as well! Someone on here the other week got pg almost straight away after removal, and a friend of mine also had BFP 1st month after removal. I think GP's say wait til you've had a period so they can date it, but I think thats the only reason to wait.
Is your coil normal or mirena?

tegan · 04/09/2006 19:08

I have a mirena and have had it in for just over 2 years so I haven't had a period for that long either.
It felt weird stocking up on sanitary products ready for tomorrow as I suspect I'm gonna bleed like a butchers on slaughter day.

tegan

I've just read 'Conception : We're doing it!!!!' and was in awe of your ability to post and....er....'do it.'

Multi-tasking indeed!

tegan · 04/09/2006 19:15

If only life was that simple I'd be "doing it" everywhere.

Tegan, let me know how you get on tomorrow. Are you going to take paracetamol before hand?
Stupid as it may seem, I hadn't even thought of needing to get any towels! How divvy! I'll have to add that to my shoppinglist I suppose!
Anyway, good luck and be sure to log in and tell me whether it is easy or even not so easy

tegan · 04/09/2006 20:25

I had the same coil after having dd1 and it felt the same being taken out as when it was put it a little uncomfy but nothing horrific.
I didn't think of taking anything before having it done.

Well the nerves are setting in and I have been on the loo since 6am worrying about having this done.
will check in later

TEGAN ....relax i had mine{2] removed and you dont feel a thing, and i concieved straight away both times as well....be lucky xx

tegan · 05/09/2006 18:30

Thanks
I had it took out at 9.15 and so far have only had a couple of twinges and a little spotting but nothing too dramatic.

The lady at the centre said that there is no reason that I couldn't go straight home and conceive because there is no hormones remaining from the coil as soon as it is removed, but dh is working nights so no nooky tonight.
