Yes, I know it could be stress, yes I know it could be body adjusting after coming off pill 2 months ago (though last month first ?real AF arrived regular as clockwork at 28 days in) but now 5 days late, feeling sick, gone off coffee, twingy pains in lower abdomen, boobs a little sore, the whole shebang?.

Before I went on pill I was regular as clockwork and had no probs such as PCOS?went to doc this morning and told him that test this morning was BFN but he thinks I?m pregnant anyway and says to wait a few days to retest. Am hoping that is the case, but surely test result should show pos by now? Anyone out there tested at this point only to have BFP later? I?d really appreciate hearing others experiences!!!

had similar experience to you in May. Was a week late and all tests were bfn. Went to gp, and she too said she thought I was pregnant but to wait for two weeks and to do another test then. I did that and again bfn. My af arrived a month after the af I'd missed should have arrived. I had sickness, went off things, sensitive to certain smells, even had bloating which looked not unlike a bump, but I wasn't pregnant.

Sorry, I don't want to burst your bubble but gp's do get it wrong as well, I would consider yourself to be not pregnant until you either get a pos test or your af arrives, because if you convince yourself you're pregnant and you turn out not to be, the disappointment can be overwhelming. good luck x

could just be cycle and hormones settling down, or could be pregnant, soz but again until you get a bfp you wont know,,, with my 1st ds 20 yrs ago i was 9wks b4 i got a bfp, my doc was going to refer me for counselling as he thought i had phantom pg!!!!!,maybe you didnt conceive until a bit later in your cycle ?? id test again in a day or two and make sure you use early morn msu.. hope this helps and the very best of luck to you x

Sometimes you can test to early so maybe it could mean you are pregnant just hold out as long as you can before you re test

littlestar · 01/09/2006 12:09

I'm in the same situation - just done my second test this week and got BFN again. AF is now 5 days late (I'm usually pretty regular). I'm feeling sick and grumpy and my sense of smell has gone crazy - just like when I was pregnant with DS. Fingers crossed the tests are wrong (but I'm not holding out much hope in my case).

glittercaz · 01/09/2006 13:20

it's dreadful isn't it, littestar? I did another test this morning and bfn...but still feeling tired, sick, twingy pains etc. It's hard to know who to 'listen' to - quite a few people of the pregnancy forum had bfn's for quite a while before they got their bfp...but then it also seems that the more you want a baby, the more symptoms one seems to get each month?

the waiting is driving me nuts....

When I was on the ttc thread one of the girls on there had 2 or 3 negatives and got a positive about a fornight later., good luck xx

littlestar · 01/09/2006 18:16

Thanks laughalot. It's horrible to think you can bring on the horrible symptoms of being pregnant just because you want it so much! I can put up with feeling nauseous and moody if I'm pregnant, but it seems very cruel if it's all in my imagination.

DH isn't very sympathetic either, he's irritatingly philosophical about the whole thing. While I dread going to the loo in case AF has arrived, and at the same time I wish it would hurry up and put me out of my misery!

At least reading mumsnet has managed to make me feel slightly better (as usual!)

Hi There,

I am in the same position! I am nearly 2 weeks late, and have to wait til 14th Sept to test again.
It is driving me crazy, any thoughts on why we should miss a period when we have always been regular?
Dr seemed to think I am pg too, but I cant seem to convince myself!
Good luck Glittercaz, and Littlestar.

quofan · 03/09/2006 21:28

Hi all, I was just about to post about this very thing. I have done 3 tests all neg, but sickly in morning, very sensitive to smell, sore boobs etc. P about 4 weeks late. Cant help but get a little excited, but dont want the heartache of more miscarrieges.

flapps · 04/09/2006 08:15

Quofan, I think the Dr was setting me up for a possible misscarriage, fingers crossed we go on to happy healthy pg's
Good luck to allXXX

TheLadyVanishes · 04/09/2006 09:39

i'm 4 days late and have tested neg on all the tests i have done, not been on the pill and I'm regular as clockwork (28days) not sure if i should wait to test again. Its driving me up the wall as I've been getting cramps but no AF, am getting really fed up

flapps · 06/09/2006 08:21

Hi Girls,

Any updates on this thread? I still have no AF and have not tested, trying to stick to Drs advice to test on the 13th (unlucky for some? may test on 14th!) - I am resisting buying pee sticks every time I go out!

Any BFP's to report?

glittercaz · 06/09/2006 10:44

hi there,

well for me my AF arrived over a week late! Not so disappointed as haven't actually been actively trying - in fact I knew we didn't bd around the right time, which added to my confusion! for me it was obviously stress - my mum was in hospital last month, so that's what i caused the delay i think. we have decided to 'go for it' this month, so finger's crossed! anyone else? xxx

Congratulations Flapps!

Piffle · 06/09/2006 12:06

nice one Flapps well done!

snowleopard · 06/09/2006 12:09

I had this happen all the time while ttc - apparent pg symptoms and late periods. I think it is stress and wishful thinking - very annoying.

flapps · 06/09/2006 20:58

Thanks very much Ladies, we are surprised and delighted, I concieved my DS after a neg IVF ( and 4yrs ttc) so we are amazed to fall naturally!

TheLadyVanishes · 07/09/2006 14:36

yay really pleased for you

still no af for me (fingers crossed)

flapps · 07/09/2006 18:12

Lady, I will keep my fingers crossed for you! good luck, and thank you! still hasnt sunk in!

quofan · 08/09/2006 14:12

Hi all, well, I got my AF this morning. I had convinced myself I might be pg, and am so disappointed. It seems that everyone I know is either pg or has just given birth. Good luck to all those waiting to see if you are pg and I hope i will be waiting with you again soon.

flapps · 13/09/2006 07:58

Dear Quofan

I am so sorry to hear your news, my secret weapon this month was robitussin, (Ofor chesty coughs) makes the cm flow.

good luck sweetie
