Remind me how to work out fertile window?

So, we've just started TTCing number 2. Number 1 took a while and I was weeing on OPKs to tell me when to DTD.

Hoping to avoid the need for OPKs this time round (especially as this time I actually seem to have EWCM! hurrah) but I can't remember how to work out the fertile window. I remember the sperm lives longer than the egg so it's important to DTD before ovulation but not so much afterwards I think?

First day of period was Monday 5th May. EWCM showing up today. Cycles usually about 32 days. When would I be ovulating and when do I shag please?

Oh yes, also, if I have a bit of spotting before period starts properly, when do I count as first day of period - first day of spotting, or first day of proper flow?

Shag every other day when you're not menstruating. At least for the first few months.

I do think just shagging, before you get all sympto-mathematical , is worth a try.

Thing is, what with both of us having long working hours and a toddler who still doesn't sleep through, I'm not sure we have the energy for every-other-day! I know that's the "correct" answer (at least at first) but I feel like I need a slightly more targeted approach...

If you have EWCM now then start shagging now! You will probably ovulate within the next few days (I think!)
