Ok so as i said in previous thread me and OH are off to GP next week to see what they can offer or what option are for once we have been trying for a year..BUT people have said its way to early to be going to GP as we are only on 6th month of trying BUT i suspect i may not be OV at all ! Sad my iphone app predicts OV for 1st-2nd of every month but OPK's say no also i do not OPK every morning as i forget. after AF has gone this month i plan on upping my game and OPK-ing every day first thing on a morning and last thing at night i was thinking of saving my OPK's and sellotaping them into a notebook with dates and times etc of when i did them to present to a GP as proof something is wrong if my instincts are right and something is wrong ..would this work ? i will leave OPKs to dry before adding to a book of course not wet just used ones Smile

OPKs do not predict ovulation and nor can the guarantee that it occurs. All they do is detect an LH surge to warn that the body is gearing up for ovulation. You can get a positive surge, yet not ovulate. You can get no positive and yet still ovulate. Therefore, they won't be of much use to your GP.

Can I recommend temping? I am 33 and have also been trying for 6 months. For the past two cycles, I am not sure if I have ovulated either as the OPKs have not picked up any surge. Therefore, when this current stupidly long cycle of 41 days plus, eventually ends, I will start charting the temps, which will prove if ovulation is occurring or not. Then I can take this to a GP, if I need to book an appointment.

Sounds like a good idea. May be good for you to look at too, there may be a pattern. If you are not doing OPKs all the time it may be that you have a short surge and you may be missing it so yes doing them twice a day will be a good idea too x
