I am ttc#1 and wonder about being pregnant a fair bit.

I was curious what part of pregnancy you are especially looking forward to?

I can't wait to have a bump that moves

And also to stop charting every aspect of my private life!

And putting away my 'just dtd' prop-up pillow. :)

Anyone else?

Oooh I have been doing this too! mainly to distract myself from the terrifying prospect of 9 months with no alcohol, coffee, pate, smoked meat, runny eggs, seafood, the list goes on... I am looking forward to hearing a heartbeat, something about knowing there is a tiny heartbeat inside me is pretty amazing. Also looking forward to telling my family, especially MiL and 13 yr old cousin as I know how excited they will be.

ithinkineedahug · 03/05/2014 17:54

I'm looking forward to DH coming home from work and stroking my tummy :)

MrsGingerbread · 03/05/2014 19:25

So glad that it isn't just me. :)

Oh yes, define yes to bump rubbing and telling people too!

And telling my nephews who soooo want another sibling (not gonna happen but i can provide a cousin. I hope)

Hi Ladies, I've been considering joining mn for a while, and this seems like a good way in - great thread topic!

I am currently ttc#1. Bit of background; I came off the pill last year but not long after doing so was signed off work long term due to work-related stress, so the actual dtd got put on hold. Luckily, I recovered fully, am in a new stress-free job, and we are now back at ttc - exciting!!

I'm 34 and DP is 9 years older, so we both feel now is the right time - but it's so hard not to put pressure on ourselves - well, more on myself really - especially because it's something we both want so much. I have told myself that I will not get obsessive over symptoms, but it''s always in your head, even if you don't physically check, or chart or test!

I'm really looking forward to the experience of having a new little life growing inside of me. And to see the look on DP's face when I show him a BFP! Also, to sharing the news with friends and family. I am definitely ready for this next chapter in life now!

I have to admit though, I am quite freaked out by the whole giving birth/labour aspect. I really don't know if I'll be able to do it, and am seriously considering c-section. Would be interesting to hear anyone else's thoughts on this

MrsGingerbread · 03/05/2014 23:50

Welcome Pea You'll find lots of very supportive ladies here to share your ttc journey with. I can recommend the May thread - a lovely bunch!

Yes, sharing the news with others will be brilliant. Ttc is so exciting but it is so hard to not be able to talk about it freely. :)

Yes, the birth and labour bit scares me too. Are you allowed a caeserian if that is what you want? I've never known how that works. :)

Cesarean only for medical purposes but definitely not the easy route from what I've heard.

I'm looking forward to having a bump again and introducing my daughter to her baby brother/sister.

Spotti · 04/05/2014 15:33

Oooh, I like the sound of this thread!

I think I'm looking forward to seeing my OHs face when I show him our BFP. Also looking forward to him stroking/talking to my bump.

Not looking forward to telling people though! Don't know why as I'm sure everyone will be really pleased and excited for us, I think I'm just dreading the thought of someone judging me even though both me and OH work hard, own our house, are nice and settled and planing our wedding, and are generally in a pretty good position to be TTC.

I'm looking forward to having my little squidge all snuggled up in my arms and nestled up against my neck...ah, I love baby snuggles...and the smell of baby hair...ahhhhh!

MrsGingerbread · 04/05/2014 16:10

Hi spotti - Yes to alk those lovely things.

Oh, and looking forward to sharing all the things I loved as a child, favourite books etc. :)

Oh I don't know, I'm just a weirdo about stuff like that and for some reason expect people to be bitchy behind my back.

Something I am really looking forward to when I am upduffed is having 9 whole months without AF!!! I'm probably going to jinx myself now when I get my BFP but I'd take morning sickness and other pregnancy related symptoms/side effects over AF any day.

MrsGingerbread · 04/05/2014 21:05

Oh, I hadn't really thought about a lack of af... That would be exciting! :)

I'm with you spotti on worrying about people judging. IRL i am quite a private person. Particularly at work. It is assumed by many that because of my age, and because i don't have children,.that i don't want children.

I get comments such as, when some says the inevitable 'you'l be next notta!' people say 'oh!! Can you imagine?!?! That would be hilarious!!!! She's more likely to get a new horse....blah blah blah.

Fecks me right off.

m33r · 05/05/2014 08:55

Because of how answer questions e.g. 'Oh, not at the moment; far too busy', I was told last week that I'd never get pregnant with 'that attitude'. Trying for 15month and on my own little roller coaster so that was just lovely!??!!!

Sparrowlegs248 · 05/05/2014 09:43

What I really want to say is 'none of you business really!'

drinkyourmilk · 05/05/2014 09:48

I'm looking forward to telling grandma. She would love to be a great grandma. All the family days out. We do things now my partner and I, but I'm envious of those with children too.
Not looking forward to giving birth, though maybe I can use it to be as indulgent as I can.
