thanks hanflan. ever hopeful though test I did this Am was a first response and they are meant to be very accurate. Sad Sad

Waffleyversatile · 06/05/2014 10:02

welcome lizs 1985 looks like we are due pretty much same time. I did a first response this morning and got bfn too. Sad just wish if I was out I knew now rather than waiting a few more days. grrr

macmissy · 06/05/2014 10:06

Hi Liz - try and stay positive, I know I am - it's hard though I know. I hate waiting Waffley so I know your pain, I was 3 months early born - so technically born impatient!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 06/05/2014 10:13

It's taking me ages to catch up with the thread after the long weekend. Congratulations to the BFP's - very exciting!! Thanks

I'm having a confusing time with the CBM digital OPK. My readings so far have been:
29th - CD 7 blank
30th - CD 8 high (flashing smiley)
1st - CD 9 peak (solid smiley)
3rd - CD 11 - blank
4th - CD 12 - high (flashing smiley)
5th - CD 13 - high
Today - CD 14th peak.

The 2 previous cycles I've used then I got the CD 9 peak and didn't carry on testing but looking at it, may have missed a second peak.

Confused So all very confusing, I'm thinking I should just bin the OPK's and tell DP we just need to DTD every over day through the middle of my cycle

Stepawayfromthezebras · 06/05/2014 10:18

other!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 06/05/2014 10:18

Stepaway- once you have a peak you stop testing. The second set of reading will be read as new cycle. It will just be picking up the tail end of your surge.
You always get a low on the first day as it uses this measurement as your base hormone level. Once you get a peak it won't let you test the following day and will show the solid smiley. After that it will assume a new cycle and start again. I'd say you probably ovulated on cd 10 or 11 based on you peak on cd 9

Lizs1985 · 06/05/2014 10:23

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Yeah, I hate the wait. I promised myself I wouldn't test until af is actually due but could not resist! Up to now I've never tried any ov sticks or charting basal temperature but thought I would this month. Has anyone else tried these?

macmissy · 06/05/2014 10:24

English - you're like a font of knowledge, don't ever disappear!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 06/05/2014 10:38

Thanks English! I'll not tell DP though, he's already been primed for tonight Grin

MissMrsMummy · 06/05/2014 10:45

Liz I have tried both. Ov sticks are good so you know when you get a LH surge (about to ov) but they don't tell you if you have actually ov'd. So that is where temping comes in! Your temp will be lower during AF and pre ov, then the day after you ov it will go up and if it stays high for at least 3 days, you know you definitely ov'd. So useful. I use an app called Kindara which makes a pretty graph for you Grin roughly speaking my temp is in the 35s before ov and 36s after. You need a digital thermometer that has 2 decimal places. Hope that helps!

MissMrsMummy · 06/05/2014 10:48

Chandlers your LP should be between 10-14 days (though my GP told me it doesn't really matter?). Mine was about 8-9 days so the last 2 cycles I have taken 2x50mg bit B6 tablets from Holland and Barrett every day. Last cycle it was 12 days and this time 10. So I am just about ok now! It might be a coincidence but my periods are less heavy and painful since taking these and they have helped with my tiredness. Unexpected bonus!

Lizs1985 · 06/05/2014 11:06

Thanks for the advice missmrsmummy, that's really helpful. I've ordered a thermometer and I'll try the app you said too.
Waffleyversatile let's hope first response isn't as accurate as they say! Fingers crossed!

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2014 11:12

MissMrs - thank you kindly!! That's a good tip for what supplements to buy too. Amazing they had that impact for you. I like the bonus side effects too! Maybe I'll seek those out today then. Smile

Good rationale for charting AND OPKs there as well! You and English are training us all up very well, much appreciated!! X x x

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2014 11:16

Hi Liz, welcome!! Smile I came off the pill at Xmas too, it's been a right old slog waiting for the body to sort itself out! In case you haven't seen it there's another thread with quite a few ppl that came off the pill at the same time on here - "Anybody TTC after recently stopping pill" (sorry no link, am on phone) - I found it earlier, was nice to see others in exactly the same boat working stuff out! Smile

kurama · 06/05/2014 11:23

welcome liz! thanks ladies. im still hopefull and at least ive been using ics instead of the cb and frers I have a few left of lol

Lizs1985 · 06/05/2014 11:28

Thanks chandlers, I will have a look at that thread. Yeah, wish I'd come off the pill sooner, I'm sure my cycles are shorter from being on the pill so long.

xBlueberry88x · 06/05/2014 12:44

Afternoon Ladies ive been taking a break from the bus for a few days.

Nice to see a couple of BFP's congrats ladies.

Welcome to the newbies!!

So much has happened.

MrsE Take some time out and try to relax having to much going on is no help to anyone.

CD 20 here and still bleeding (day 7) brown in colour and nothing like AF getting fed up now it ruined my anniversary shagging lol

bellaboo88 · 06/05/2014 12:44

Macmissy - not actually got my contract yet. I read the usual 15weeks by the 26th week etc & I assume you're OK if you've been there a week before you get prey. If not, MA will be fine...but 90% for a couple of weeks would be good.

Han - thanks but this is a happy AF, one month off for Xmas avoid.dance & another avoidance cycle as my parents will be away, so I can rejoin the trying!

MrsE, my 2month break has been boring but I'm back, ready to get down to business. See you back soon I hope xx

hanflan · 06/05/2014 12:50

bella haha I re-read your post and realised after I posted! I think it's just automatic on this thread to think AF = bad Grin. Well, yay for AF then! Back on the bus.

KittyVonCatsington · 06/05/2014 17:21

Feeling very sorry for myself! Have been Googling:" No AF but BFN"' "Anovulatory Cycles" and "messed up cycles after chemical".
All contradiciting each other!!

Was even jumping up and down a little bit earlier to try and kick start AF into appearing Hmm I hate this!!!!!!!

Aaaannnndddd breathe! Grin

What's occurring ladies?!

I poas. Stupid. Bfn. Grrrr.

Happy Tuesday!

toots123 · 06/05/2014 18:53

Evening ladies
sorry your still in limbo kitty!!

We went to travel agent to book a winter holiday but changed our mind. If no bfp by July we will be booking though!
Really hoping for our bfp!

hanflan · 06/05/2014 19:17

Sorry Sammy! What day is AF due, how many dpo are you? Hopefully there is still time!

hanflan · 06/05/2014 19:20

Girls I did a stupid thing! I am 8 dpo and today I've been reading loads of stuff on the internet about how opks work as pregnancy tests bla bla bla. So I pissed on one just out of curiosity. I got two lines. Test line is not quite as dark as control line but still clearly there! So I got all excited and pissed on a FRER. bfn of course!
I know FOR SURE I am not ovulating... So could this opk show very very early levels of hcg?!

Someone slap me now!

sammyj85 · 06/05/2014 19:46

9/10 dpo so I guess its not over yet!

I don't know much about using opks as bastardsticks, got my fingers crossed though!

We're going to canada in july toots, wanted a bfp this month so I'd be over 12 weeks when we fly. We shall see!
