Antibiotics while ttc

Hi everyone.
I've just been to the doctor and been prescribed Trimethoprim. After googling I've seen it might not be the best idea while ttc. I did tell the doctor I was ttc and rang the surgery back when I got home (and googled!). The receptionist spoke to the doctor and said it was ok but I'm not convinced!!
Has anyone got any advice as to whether I should take it?

I was told by my doctor this week it's ok to take them as long as it's at the beginning of your cycle before you ov as they only affect the embryo after conception, not your eggs before they're released. (This was for a different antibiotic but also one that says not to take whilst ttc in the leaflet.)
