Hi,

I am a 13 month old DD who is absolutely amazing. I was convinced from about 17 I couldn't have children but didn't pay much attention until I was around 21 and had not used protection at all in my relationship with my partner (I was so sure I couldn't conceive, no idea why) which started at age 18 and hadn't got pregnant. Started trying at 21 and by 22 yet again not pregnant. I didn't avoid ovulation dates in the past or anything either.

I got everything 'looked into' and everything seemed fine. Funnily enough around 2 months later I fell pregnant and was completely shocked.

My dilemma now is that I want DD to have a little brother or sister, but not with too much of an age gap. Approx 2-3 years, so they can play but I wont be run ragged by 2 under 3s either.

So my dilemma is do I start trying to ttc from say when DD is 18 months due to the fact I had trouble trying to conceive last time and yet risk the chance I get pregnant straight away (I just feel this is unlikely, but you never know) or do I wait til 2 years to start to try and conceive but risk not being able to get pregnant for at least a year possibly more and there to be a quite big age gap?

What does everyone else think/what did you do. I'd really appreciate your input.
