First time posting here but needed to vent - sorry! I really did not think I would become so obsessive about this baby business so quickly. Its my other half who wanted kids for years - I've only just come round to the idea :)

Period is 5 days late but only just come off the Pill so could just be erratic but then had 2 normal 27 day cycles. I had loads of left sided cramps for 3 days 2 weeks ago - thought period was coming a week early but nope.

Did a couple of tests - both negative now wondering if the cramps were ovulation cramps? Never had these before the Pill. Still getting them but not as badly.

Argh so confused and can't even talk to hubby as don't want to raise hopes of pregnancy until it's definite. Has anyone had new menstrual symptoms after the Pill that they didn't have before it?

Sorry so long but I'd be very grateful for any advice/experience x

Hi auberginefrog,

Didn't want to leave you unanswered as I know the feelings. First cycle after coming off pill was very long and weird and I seriously thought I was pregnant. And yes, I now get ovulation pain when I didn't before. Good news about ovulation pain is that you're most likely ovulating, which can only be a good thing.

My best advice for sanity is that you will feel more relaxed as the novelty of ttc wears off. I went down the ovulation kit route and stressed myself out totally (waste of money and time). This time around (now ttc #2) I'm a new member of the Just Shagging thread and finding lots of lovely support there (so I don't want/need to tell my DH about every twinge.

Come and join us if you think it'll help. Good luck :)
