5 days late, BFNs, blood test?

I'm days late at the least, 7 at the most. I've tested several times with FRER and keep getting BFNs. I'm so confused, I've had feelings like I'm going to come on for over a week now but no symptoms as such.

When could I go to the doctors and request a blood test? Google tells me sometimes people don't ever get a positive pregnancy test.

Thanks!

I'm in the exact same situation. I'm usually like clockwork yet now 4 days late, took a test yesterday but negative. Going to wait a few days and try another.

From googling it seems that it is possible to be pregnant.

arghhhagain · 29/04/2014 20:08

Ahh really, how frustrating is it! I missed out the *5 days in my OP. I keep telling myself I'll wait a few days but keep doing tests! It's ridiculous.

What did you learn from Google? :)

Basically that in some women the pregnancy hormone is not as high or it takes some longer to have the levels needed to show a positive test. Some examples of people missing two periods with no positive test and being pregnant. With some even a blood test didn't confirm it!

arghhhagain · 29/04/2014 21:24

Ahh wow how crazy!

I got a BFP 2012 and I got that on a FRER before my period was even due so this is why I'm extra confused and kind of not holding out much hope either!

Hi there.
I am sort of in the same position. I am now 6 days late iv had cramps & sore boobs & really bloated but 2 negative tests.
How have you ladies got on?

arghhhagain · 03/05/2014 11:35

Hi!

I did a test on Thurs (a week late) and was negative again. Still no sign of my period though!

When did you do your tests? I have no symptoms other that missing period so I'm not holding out much hope.

Hi again.
I done a test on Wed 4 days late, then yday at 6 days late & today exactly a week late. I really dont know what to think. Iv got crampy pains on & off & cant stop eating but i am a pig! Sore boobs & armpits lol. Xx

arghhhagain · 04/05/2014 07:52

Very similar then :) Your sore boobs sounds promising though. I wonder what's going on. I cried randomly at work last night but I have random emotional moments anyway!

araghhagain looking bk at your prev post i also got a BFP 3 days before my period was due with my DS...so i am extra confused you. How are you feeling??

MrsBeeBeeBee · 04/05/2014 20:31

I am 8 days late! BFNs at 0 days, 4 days and 7 days late. So going a bit crazy here. My cycles are normally like clockwork so this is extremely unusual for me.

1moretime · 04/05/2014 21:28

SnapMrsBeeBeeBee im also 8 days late & had 3 BFN too last test done yday am!
How are you? Iv had cramps all week, achy legs, sore boobs well armpits. Lol. Just been sick before after a family bbq....that mayb i just ate too much tho. X

MrsBeeBeeBee · 04/05/2014 22:32

I am ridiculously tired, keep falling asleep on sofa etc. I have a DD and remember feeling like this in early pregnancy with her. A lot of food twinges too. But I may just be imagining it all. With my DD I got my bfp at a couple of days late at most.

When are you guys testing again? I might do in the morning but don't want to send myself crazy!

MrsBeeBeeBee · 04/05/2014 22:33

Haha that was meant to say foof twinges but my autocorrect didn't approve!

Thatssofunny · 04/05/2014 22:39

Af got me today, 9 days late (and I'm pretty sure I ovulated on time...). Have been a bit stressy about the thought of maybe being pregnant this time round, despite BFN. I'd love to be, and we've been ttc for ages, including one mc so far. Last time, I got my BFP really early, though, which is why I assumed it to be a blip and not a pregnancy. Additionally, I'll be teaching Y6 next year and was worrying about going off half way through the year. Might not have been in the most positive mindset. Hmm
I would have managed to sort it, though. Sad
Oh well, let's try yet again. Good luck to everyone else.

1moretime · 05/05/2014 06:44

Sounds promising MrsBeeBeeBee esp if its simular to how you felt last time. With my DS i tested positive 3 days before my missed period & just knew becoz i was so sick which lasted till i was about 6 months!!
Aww thatssofunny sorry that af has arrived for you, i dont think stress helps at all, i must admit i think mayb thats what is stopping mine too....well 9 days late today lets see what happens. Iv decided im going to wait untill wed if still no af then i will retest, if negative i will get an app at docs to see whats going on. I have pcos and my periods are irregular ....but not this long! Plus thought Metformin was meant to help regulate me??? Xx

MrsBeeBeeBee · 05/05/2014 07:07

Sorry AF got you thatsofunny.

Well 9 days late and another BFN. Think I'll phone for a DR appointment tomorrow but you have to wait two weeks here, so I'm not sure there is much point!

I didn't have morning sickness last time 1moretime and I'm very grateful! That sounds awful. Maybe throwing up yesterday was a good sign for you then?

1moretime · 05/05/2014 07:14

Awww will you really have to wait for 2 weeks for an appt hun?
Thats awful, we can normally get one the following day or 2.
Yes being sick last night did make me think!! But i did eat allsorts...i never bloody stop.
Altho you still have a BFN ...still stay positive...another post im following a lady didnt trst positive untill she was 48 days late!!!

arghhhagain · 05/05/2014 12:42

Ahh why is AF being so confusing for us all Grin

I'm still waiting on AF and haven't tested again since my BFN on Thursday because I refuse to waste anymore money!

I'm now on CD 44, and either 2 weeks late going by my app or 11 days late going by later OV feelings I thought I felt!

OP posts:
arghhhagain · 05/05/2014 12:44

Oh should say as well I have no symptoms other than my missing AF!

I am really tired but my shifts are ridiculous and getting up with a baby doesn't help either!

I'm sorry AF came for you thatssofunny, maybe baby was waiting til the timing is perfect :)

1moretime · 05/05/2014 12:51

araghhagain i have just been and bought a clear blue test as last 3 have just been cheapys...im 9 days late now havent tested since Sat but dont know whether to test now or wait Hmm

MrsBeeBeeBee · 05/05/2014 17:56

AF has arrived here! 9 days late. I'm actually surprisingly happy to see it!
So onto next cycle and to try to work around the awkwardness of my husband being away with work slap bang in the middle of it!

Hope you ladies get a bfp, or at least get AF soon so you can start again!
Xx

1moretime · 05/05/2014 17:59

Awww so sorry Mrsbeebeebee
Least u can crack on with next cycle hun. Im none the wiser...done yhe test before and BFN again!!
Yes hope if im not that af will arrive soon. Xx

Thatssofunny · 05/05/2014 18:57

Sorry that she got you, too MrsBeeBeeBee. Oh well,...

argh I do hope that baby isn't waiting for the perfect moment. There won't ever be one. Shock Perfect would be a due date right after the summer holidays. However, I'm way beyond the point of caring when the baby would arrive. We've been ttc for nearly three years. If there should be a clash with work stuff, I can sort it out.

1moretime · 05/05/2014 19:05

Awww thatssofunny 3 years is along time hun,im sorry. Have you had any help fromgp? Xx

Thatssofunny · 05/05/2014 20:57

1moretime Haven't been to the GP, yet. I got pregnant last year,...and just thought it had taken a little while. Had quite a few issues with the mc and it took forever to sort itself out. We've been trying again since then, which has "only" been about 7 months.
I'll probably get round to talking to a GP at some point,...but I hate going to see doctors. I don't get ill very often at all (haven't been to see GP for illness in about 4 years) and the frequent trips to the EPU last year have put me off completely. They couldn't find anything wrong with me, apart from the fact that my hormone levels bounced up and down. Don't like blood tests, don't like being handed from one person to another, and don't like being asked to repeat myself over and over again.
