Hi

I'm new to all the fertility stuff so don't understand my results that have been sent through to me, tested on day 3. Dr appointment is next week.

I've had one 42 day cycle since my last withdrawal bleed off dianette and this one looks like it is going to be the same. I was diagnosed at 15 with PCOS, now 33. Diagnosed by cystic ovaries on scan, high testosterone, body hair and bad acne. I'm confused, have I grown out of PCOS?

Could someone please help and explain them to me?

Hi Rufus. Sorry I'm not sure about these results, but i just wanted to share with you. My friend and 2 of her sisters were all diagnosed with PCOS and various other problems. Had various tablet treatments for up to a year and now all 3 sisters have managed 3 children each!! Good luck

Rufus - I am no expert, but the blood test results do not seem to indicate PCOS! I don't know how old you are, but the AMH results are the only ones that seem to indicate anything. And AMH is renowned for being not particularly helpful, just an indicator for responsiveness to IVF treatment.
AMH looks at the number of eggs, but does not say anything about the quality of the eggs. So you could have a high number of eggs, but all be poor quality, or a low number and still all be good.

Your hormones at 15 might have been a little out of whack, but they look ok now! You would need another scan to see regarding cysts with the ovaries.

Had my appointment today, Dr looked at bloods and said I didn't have PCOS and was probably misdiagnosed. Then she scanned me and had to eat her words! Both ovaries are cystic and she now thinks my blood results are normal due to 17 years on the pill suppressing the cysts and that they will just get worse over time off the pill.
