The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Exciting Ellis - first response should be quite effective one day before AF is due. I'm trying to take relaxed approach to this cycle - AF due Sat but if she arrives my holiday next week will probably involve way less stressing about suitable foods and smog levels in SE Asia. So I'm telling myself anyway, whilst getting my hopes up massively because I have a a small spot on my chin, last time was before my BFP, time before that was in the early 90s. So glad I have you ladies to share this with whilst keeping up appearance of sanity to outside world.

broodylicious · 14/05/2014 07:39

Thanks all for welcoming me back Smile I've missed you gals.

Ooh little whereabouts in SE Asia? My fave part of the world!EnvyEnvy

Morning all!

I haven't posted for ages as was having a rough time with lots of work stress and struggling to get my head around the mmc, as well as other ups and downs. Everything got on top of me for a while, but I feel a bit stronger now. I'm very lucky to have amazing support IRL as all my close friends knew I was pg and rallied round during the mmc. They're all rooting for us to get a sticky bean soon, but MN is the place where I can really indulge my inevitable ttc insanity Smile.

I've lurked a bit, so welcome to all the newbies and massive congratulations to those who've had BFPs - sending out positive, sticky vibes for you all. Handholding and Cake for those who need it.

I'm in the 2ww of my first proper cycle after the mmc. AF due Saturday and I might poas on Friday, though have no symptoms except the imaginary ones I "spot" every half hour and google the shit out of, of course. Fx for any poas-ers coming up. Chin up, tits out for everyone else Smile.

Good to have you back Broody! Off to Thailand, to drink lots of beer and cocktails if I get a BFN between here and next week!

bythesea82 · 14/05/2014 11:22

Hi to those new to the thread, sorry you find yourself here but nice to have you and sending virtual hugs....

jetpack same as you, in 2ww of first proper cycle since mc. Might risk Friday stick peeage but not due till Monday so risky but it would be nice if there was a reason for my extreme grumpiness and requirement to sleep by 8pm. Most likely I am just grumpy and tired Hmm

Seems like Friday could be a busy one for stick action!

broodylicious · 14/05/2014 11:26

Oh I'm so jealous little! We went to Thailand a few years ago - Bangkok then krabi - and we just love the place for its scenery, culture, amazingly friendly people and of course how cheap everything is! Have you been before?

Littlelady33 · 14/05/2014 11:38

Absolutely love the place - have been a couple of times and DH loves the place so tempting to go back - the 20p beers help!

Littlelady33 · 14/05/2014 12:34

Since I'm off on Thursday night would like special dispensation to poas Thursday morning if the witch doesn't show up

Ellisisland · 14/05/2014 15:07

I think special dispensation can be granted ! Grin

tannyLoo · 14/05/2014 15:22

Handed in my resignation today. Fear has set in.

Little granted!

Littlelady33 · 14/05/2014 15:24

Wow Tanny! Congrats? Is that appropriate? What's the plan now?

tannyLoo · 14/05/2014 15:48

Fuck knows! I need to find another job before my credit card runs out!

It just became such an issue that I had to follow my gut and get out...

broodylicious · 14/05/2014 16:05

Eeeek tanny! How exciting/nerve wracking! May you be able to work for yourself instead? It was the best thing I did (bar marry dh and have dd). Just a thought....

Littlelady33 · 14/05/2014 16:15

Good for you Tanny, life is really too short to be miserable for 8 hours a day

TallGiraffe · 14/05/2014 17:36

Are you going to apply for similar jobs or have a complete change Tanny?

Ellisisland · 14/05/2014 17:39

Good for you Tanny

Hello everyone. Sorry you've all had losses. It's great that this thread exists, though.

I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago (my first pregnancy, and was about 8 weeks). I have been trying again this month, but had bleeding start about 6 days after I thought I'd ovulated. Clearly not back to normal - have only had about 10 days of not bleeding in the last 2 months. Did I read right broodylicious, that you're still bleeding 10 weeks on? How does the migrogynon reset thing work? Maybe I need to do that too, because I really want to try again. I feel pretty low, and can't really concentrate on anything else.

Thanks for sharing your experiences everyone. It really helps.

broodylicious · 14/05/2014 19:46

Hi kate. So sorry for your loss. It's a really crappy thing to deal with anyway and then this whole prolonged bleeding thing just makes it even worse, doesn't it? I just want to be back to normal, as I'm sure you do too. Yes, I'll be 11 weeks past my mc tomorrow and I'm still bleeding. Had only eight or nine days with nothing, but they weren't all consecutive days, sometimes a few days then bleeding again, sometimes one day bleeding, next day not. Its been heavier these last few days -like a very heavy period - and I even passed a few clots today so I feel like now I've hardly progressed at all.

I'm sure it was on here that I read someone had been prescribed the contraceptive pill to stop their consistent bleeding, I think they were about 12 or 14 weeks on. I think it's the hormone in it that regulates your cycles but I could be wrong. I just need my cycles to get back to roughly predictable so we can start planning for dc2 again! Have you been to see a doctor yet? I'm planning on going on Friday if no let up.

Littlelady33 · 14/05/2014 20:14

Welcome Kate and sorry for your loss. Broody I'm sorry it's going on so long - have you been sent back for a scan or anything?

Ellisisland · 14/05/2014 20:50

Broody - are you still testing positive on pregnancy tests? The reason I ask is that I was told by the doctor that if I was testing positive and still bleeding after 3 weeks to just go to a&e and say that I needed to speak to a gyne as I was having miscarriage complications. Were you told anything similar? So sorry it is taking so long Sad

katemn · 14/05/2014 21:14

Yes, sounds like you should go back to your doctor after 11 weeks, as that does seem unusual. I guess I should go too if there's no let up soon. I did have a scan at an early pregnancy unit which showed everything had gone, but it's still worrying when it won't stop.

broodylicious · 14/05/2014 21:53

Yeah I had a scan, everything had passed; very cruelly, I had my mc just a few hours before my 12 week scan so I kept the appointment and they confirmed it'd all passed and that my uterus lining was still very thick and I'd be passing it over the next few weeks. I got a bfn at about four weeks I think. At 8 weeks, I had passed palm sized clots (completely ruined our bed sheets with it) and so called gynae ward where I'd been seen originally. Nurse said it was quite normal to pass big clots at around that time because it'd likely be my cycles kicking back in. I've not had any pains or bad smells, which is why I've held out til now to see a doctor tbh. But it's just getting ridiculous now and with this intensity of bleeding over the last three days, plus clots again, I just need to know what is going on.

I must admit, I have been dieting quite severely (Cambridge diet) and it did say in the intro letter that it can effect menstruation (not ovulation though) so I wonder if that's anything to do with it too. I have lost nearly a stone in just over two weeks as a guide to my meaning of the word "severe"!

mrsdiddlydoo · 14/05/2014 22:38

Kate - I hate it when you thinking you're getting back to something remotely normal and something happens to throw you. Its only almost 3 weeks since my MC and after a couple of reassuringly 'blood' free days and thinking I might have ov last week I almost freaked out at work today when I went for a pee. Bloody body... Can I trade it in?

I was told to poas after 2 weeks and call the EPU if still positive. Head currently in sand as it was positive and just ignoring it. Will try again in a few days and maybe call EPU then. Seems so backwards hoping for a BFN when all I want is the opposite.

Find this thread so helpful and reassuring. Stuffing my face with Cake before I bury my head back in the sand Grin

Metalhead · 15/05/2014 08:15

Welcome kate, so sorry for your loss.

broody I think it's definitely time you went to see the GP, nearly three months of bleeding does not sound normal to me. Well done on the weight loss btw, that's quite impressive! I'm currently trying to get rid of my flabby belly for our beach holiday at the end of the month, but so far it's not shifting...

Good luck to any poas-ers tomorrow! I'm hoping AF won't show up for me next Wednesday so I can poas next Friday.

broodylicious · 15/05/2014 08:36

Hi metal cambridge is a great way to shift the flab quickly, I've been amazed! But I do think it's not a long term plan so today I've broken away from it and had Special K (Shock carbs?! Shock horror to my system!)

Got an appt with GP at 1150. Just got to get through dd's toddler class beforehand....
