Polycystic ovaries, but not PCOS

Anyone been diagnosed with or heard of this? I had an internal ultrasound yesterday and was told I dont have cysts but lots of eggs. I read somewhere that this thing is poorly named and that its better described as polyfollicular.

I'm confused. She said its not PCOS but PCO and that its nothing to worry about. I'm seeing the GP about it next week once the sonographers report gets there.

I had it done because of pains in my right side, a different period, night sweats, bloating and blood streaked ewcm. How much of that, if any was because of this PCO I have no idea. I have though suffered with major thinning hair loss for nearly 15 years and have some facial hair despite all hormone tests showing nothing (she said thats typical of PCO). I only started checking ovulation last month, and i did. She also said she sees that i'm about to ovulate very soon. So thats great.

Until the last few months, my periods have been regular to about 28 days. Then it changed to 35 days and periods started lasting longer and longer. Before they were about 5 days long, now max 10. But the last period lasted 3. Weird.

Any thoughts?

PCOS is classified as not only polycystic ovaries but also other symptoms that go along with it, such as insulin resistance, increased body hair etc. You can have cycstic ovaries without having the syndrome if you don't have the other symptoms.

Have you had your thyroid checked? As that can lead to wonky cycles/periods and weird hormonal symptoms.
