Anyone else about to start their TWW?

Am 29, TTC 1, cycle #1... After much silent stalking of threads on here and research DH and I have this week just decided to start trying. Very excited and also a little bit nervous about this (potentially) long journey we've just started out on!

Roll on 7th May... anyone else in a similar boat/care to join me?

Hi kitty I was naughty and tested about 8/9 dpo. Was so faint, it was more like a shadow! But it's slowly getting darker each day. I'm about 11 dpo now and AF would be due on Monday, so I'm v nervous.

No that's not a nosy question at all. I was true to my name and tested using ICs (internet cheapies) the night before I was 11dpo and early morning. I couldn't see a line so disregarded those 2 tests. I took another early morning at 12dpo. I thought it was a negative at first. Then after looking very closely i see a very faint almost invisible line, so thought I was imagining things or that it was an evap line. I compared it to the tests that id taken the day before (at 11dpo) and noticed a line on one of them. I took another 6 hours later and had a very faint but defiantly more visible line. So I thought i have had enough second guessing and brought a digi test and that confirmed it. I would recommend waiting till at least 12dpo!

I believe it was Yoni that shared a great link to a site called countdown to pregnancy. I used the pregnancy test calculator, which advises you based on your cycle, the earliest recommended dpo to test and referred to that (otherwise i probably would have started testing sooner!)

I know its so frustrating. We dtd at, what in theory, was exactly the right time the first month ttc so i got all my hopes up only to start AF. The disappointment that month was the worst, then after that it wasn't as bad.

Anyway, last 2 mornings my line has gone fainter/barely there at all. Not sure what this means but I have an awful feeling AF will come tomorrow.

Oh Bean I am sorry this month wasn't your month but sending positive vibes that it will be soon.

I'm only 7dpo and it's going sooo slowly. I found a really old (and out of date!) test so thought 'why the hell not'. Obviously it was BFN and then i felt shit although knew it would be negative and then annoyed at myself for not being able to wait! But I've learned my lesson and won't early test again...

Had constant cramps and pressure since ovulation. No clue how long my cycle usually is either so just making myself wait and see now. Oh to have never read Mumsnet!!! [Wink]

Comisserations bean - hoping for a BFP for you next month

Yoni - sending your AF big sod off vibes and hoping for a good outcome.

My AF is due this Thurs/Fri - really hoping it stays away. I've not tested yet (am 10 dpo) and have some Internet cheapies and a couple of actual tests some kind person gave away on freecycle. Not sure how long my willpower will last this week. It's 7 years since my husband and I got together tomorrow - a BFP this week would be a great way to celebrate!

CanI awww sorry to hear that. Don't be too hard on yourself, but try to avoid testing too early in future. I always found testing too early was more disappointing than just waiting for AF to turn up. I know how tempting it is though ....xx

Sorry to hear that Yoni - hoping that June is your month.

I've not tested yet but am getting some cramping. Am trying to reframe it as a good sign either way. It could be an early symptom of pregnancy - if so - whoop! Or it could be a sign that my lighter periods are getting back to their more normal, painful selves meaning my body might be returning to normal post coming off the pill. Less whoop but still good.

I'm going to test on Wed though (13dpo) as I'm then away for a couple of days and would rather be with my husband whatever the test result. Cheers impatiently waiting 14 for the congrats. Low key celebration tonight of nice pizza and catching up with Game of Thrones. Going to the Globe on a Wed night though so excited about that.

Mmmm cramping, light bleeding occurring for me. Hoping for implantation bleeding, more likely to be AF I guess...... Maybe a month 1 success was expecting a bit much :-)

So downloaded a new app (ovia) and it said test today. So I tested today... BFN. DPO 10 but due today/tomorrow........ Bought 3 tests as its not over till AF is fully here right??

It's not over till the fat lady sings... Or until AF is in full throttle and unmistakable... and even then who knows.

Maybe we should just come with in built magic 8 balls located somewhere discrete (inner elbow maybe) that we could shake and get an accurate and definitive answer rather than this POAS and symptom spotting nonsense!

OMG I totally want magic 8 balls for elbows! So still no sign of a proper period for me. Just minor spotting (sorry for the tmi) do have a migrane on the way and that is usually day one of AF for me so who knows??
