Body temperature higher than normal during the day

I know that you need to take your temp first thing in the morning to get an accurate picture of your body temperature and that many things can change your body's temperature during the day.

But.... over the last three days I've been majorly warm during the afternoon and evening - almost two degrees (fahrenheit) warmer than normal (normally I'm around 96.9 and now I'm getting 98.9+). I don't feel ill and haven't changed my normal activities.

My BBT is also elevated, suggesting that I've ovulated.

So my question is whether your temperature during the day can indicate anything? Not a one-off temperature, but a sustained increase in temperature over a number of days.

To clarify - I think that I ovulated about 10 days ago based on BBT. It's been over the past three days that my daytime temperature has gone up significantly, not the whole of my luteal phase so far.
