Confusing pregnancy symptoms

Hello.
I'm wondering if anyone can offer any advice or might have gone through something similar?

This is the first month that myself and my partner have been ttc. My cycles have always been very regular (28 days) and very predictable ( sore breasts a couple of days before my period, irritable mood, spotting the day before).

We had sex on what would be 2 days before ovulation. At 4 dpo I got incredibly sore breasts which I've not had before. I was also irritable. Not really clued up on pregnancy symptoms, as each strange thing happened I googled it to check if it was one or not and everything was. I had spotting start 6dpo (never had before) I was nauseous, swollen breasts, strong sense of smell and smells were making me gag, by 9dpo I had lots of bumps on my nipples, hot flushes, stitch-like pains under my right rib at 11dpo, full feeling, constipated- I was convinced I was pregnant.

Yesterday, 12dpo, the spotting, although pale pink, became slightly heavier and by last night I had a light period. This morning it's turned in to a heavy period and my breasts are less sore.

I'm two days early for my period and totally confused. Could I have been pregnant and miscarried or was it all on my head?

Oh.. I forgot to add, I took a test this morning and it was negative. Should I keep testing?

It's quite easy to convince yourself the symptoms are there.

I'd try and go with the theory that unless you get a distinctly positive test, then assume no.
