Ovulation 2 days before period due-is this possible?

Been ttc for about 6months after mc last year.
Not really doing charts or OPKs but this month been feeling a bit odd and didn't have a pregnacy test so used an OPK for some random reason! It came up with 2 blue lines but this was 2days before AF due so I couldn't be ovulating could I? I know its not a pg test so not to be relied on for that but it can test for hormone levels. I'm confused. AF due today but only brown discharge so far.
Anyone give any advice?

Get a HPT!

Are your cycles usually really regular? It would be unusual, and I have heard of people testing using opk instead of hpt, get an hpt as soon as poss! Oh and let us know :) Good luck!

Sorry to put a potential downer on thread but I once had a 52-day cycle when normally i have 30-34 days between periods (so not massively regular but relatively predictable). I ovulated v late that cycle.

Also you get a surge in LH just before AF, so that is why you can't really use opks as hpts. Just before AF the opk can get to near positive, with two clear lines, this is normal and not a sign of pregnancy normally.

Thank you for this useful info. I was just curious but wasn't relying on the opk for a positive test. I don't think I'll be getting a bfp this month unfortunately. Back to the drawing board and using the opk's in the right way!!

I had a wee on an OPK the day before my period was due and was very surprised when I got a strong positive. I was also baffled as to why I was only just ovulating when my period was due! I posted on MN and was informed a strong positive OPK at time of expected AF can indicate pregnancy. I went to my local shop and bought two different brands of HPT and got a BFP with both.
