First cycle ttc and I'm already going mad!

Hi all! This is my first time on mumsnet, it's my first month ttc and I am already going crazy, so I just wanted somewhere to vent!

I am currently 3 days late (periods usually like clockwork!), took a test this morning. Negative. But now I am feeling clammy and dizzy, a little bit queasy, keep thinking I can "feel" things in my uterus, little bubbles and twinges. I am driving myself insane here because I know it's probably all in my head anyway!

Anyone have the same experience? I bet as soon as I post this TOTM will show up...

Firstly, I just wanted to say that these symptoms are not in your head. You are definitely experiencing them, even if it doesn't mean you are pregnant. I have experienced all your symptoms when not pregnant and when i got my BFP. Hormones are pretty strong things and our bodies are doing something amazing for us, even though it can drive us crazy!

How soon has it been since you came off BC? I found that we forget what used to happen and because we are TTC, every slight twinge, nausea etc. is noticed. Also, you don't happen to know when you ovulated do you? You say you are late, but our cycles can vary slightly and you may not be 14dpo yet. Give it a few days, then test again with a FRER.

Thanks for your reply! I came off the pill nearly 2 years ago as my husband and I knew we wanted to get my cycle back to normal before ttc. Since then just using condoms. Cycle went straight back to being very regular and has been 28/29 days ever since. Fairly sure I ovulated around day 15 as had cm and ovulation pains (pretty much always get this on day 15/16 too!). Didn't dtd "unprotected" until day 19.... now I'm wondering if I ovulated later than I thought?!

You could have, the pains are something I experience too although still not clear if it means will, are or have ovulated! Currently use OPK sticks and pain usually comes day after LH surge. If you did ovulate around CD15, it's unlikely you caught an egg if you waited until CD19 to DTD. Eggs only survive for around 12 hours. It is more likely you ovulated later, if you are pregnant and therefore, not as far dpo as you think. Good luck and come join us on the April or May buses for some support during the wait Grin

Haha I am REALLY trying not to get my hopes up as all these feelings could just be AF due to arrive. But look out for me on the April/May buses Grin

Awww good luck. It's bad isn't it?! I can't vent to poor hubby or I will send him insane, he doesn't want me to get my hopes up! It's hard not to though!

Good lord, hanflan I'm with you on this one!!! I am TTC#1 and cycle 1 as well and the wait is driving me crazy!!!!

My BFP / AF is due on Tuesday (week today) so I haven't tested yet. I will be using a clear blue probably Saturday. I will try and test no earlier. But I'm symptom spotting like crazy. My boobs really hurt and I am soooo tired. Plus I got a bit weepy last night. And I'm having really vivid dreams.

Now I completely appreciate these are symptoms on my impending AF but I'm trying to convince myself that there is a chance I'm not, but oh I so want to be. And every symptom I think I must be!!!

Oh the waiting is killing me

hanflan · 15/04/2014 13:14

Ahhhh I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm just getting myself overly worked up because I am not usually late so this is driving me mad!

Update: AF arrived last night. Bollocks. Oh well, have hopped on the "BFP for May" train thread :)

Oh no I'm sorry!!!

I'm still waiting BFP / AF due on Tuesday. I've got a clearbue so am going to POAS on Friday morning I think ( 4 days prior) but I'm not hopeful on first month - will reserve my seat on the May bus!!!!

Gemerama, you're not alone.
Years of being regular & 1st cycle ttc#1 I'm irregular...same with 2nd cycle. AF arrived today 3 days late :(
Seems such a mean thing for my body to do to me.
Ah well, getting on the May bus.

Good luck girls x

Just wanted to show some solidarity as this is month 1 for me too and I have already convinced myself I'm pg. The worst thing is feeling so unsure - every twinge/cramp/bloat/soreness - and there have been many! Hoping this will help keep me sane. Best wishes to you all.
