Early pregnancy signs

Yeah yeah I know you've all seen a similar thread before!!

Just wanted to ask what is the first change you notice with your tummy once you have concieved and when does this occur. Do you swell at particular times of the day or all the time, niggly feelings? Obviously you get bigger but just wanted to know if there was extremely early signs of any changes in that area!

Also anyone have any other early pregnancy signs? Just wondered if I would notice any by now. Ovulation started last Tuesday.

I don't remember any tummy soreness before quite late in the pregnancy (6-7m), due to the ligaments stretching. I'm not sure you're supposed to feel anything so early.

My tummy felt swollen about 3-4 days before my period was due. Felt very different to usual PMS symptoms, which is why I did the pregnancy test so early. But I had recently had abdominal surgery to remove an ectopic so I was more sensitive than most! I don't think most women feel anything until well after their period is due.

My main one was morning sickness, from 3wks and 5days, till 5mths , but would do it all again in a heart beat!

I always had a millio signs while ttc #3 child
It took 3 years so I had plenty of times to obsess.
The month I got my + test I had no symptoms - I had more of the trad preg symptoms when I got my period
At 6 weeks I got some nausea and sore boobs and round tummy (water retention I think)

I think that your mind plays overtime when you so badly want to be pg. I have just had twinges low down but this could be early signs of af.

So some people don't have any early symptons then? Thats quite encouraging to know really.

I just wondered when you would feel your tummy stiffen up IYSWIM!

Hi- i never believed in my own my symptoms but looking back they were quite obvious: extreme hunger from week 3/ sore boobs from week 3- these are not reg pmt symptoms for me. I also hadall my normal pmt symptoms ie/ bloated, grouchy mood, af cramping.

Hi

This is my first time on Mumsnet, am I am also wondering if I am pregnant.

This would be my second child.

When I was pregnant last time, I got a very weird taste in my mouth, could sleep anywhere anytime and was weeing for England oh and a bit grouchy! Now feeling a bit tearful on and off, sicky and boobs feel big!

Horbmumi - when af due? Keep me posted. I thought I was having niggling feelings lower down but not so sure if in my mind. I have no other symptons and that is why i'm not feeling to positive this month.

andi0411 - when you say week 3, do you mean from ovulation or from when your af was due?

Since stopped breastfeeding af very unpredictable - can go as long as 8 weeks - so hard to know.

Hopefully this should settle down.

Another baby would be fantastic!

Let me know if its a +++++ test - still have mine in the drawer! xx

I have just found out that I'm pregnant. I think I'm officially considered to be 6 weeks pregnant (based on date of last period) but I'm not sure as I haven't talked to the Dr yet.
I was pretty sure before doing the test as only 1 week after ovulation my boobs got massive. It seemed unbelievable, but I'm used to getting sore boobs for a day or so each month, but this time it didn't go away.
So in my case swollen, firm, sore boobs was definately a sign. DH is not complaining though!

My fist sign was a metallic taste in my mouth. I had had IVF and had the test on day 13 after implantation and the taste was before that so quite quick. Unless it was just a result of the hormones I had been given. The test was positive but showed v. low hormone levels. However DS is now 5!

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 8 months with no success. It is consuming! I have read everything relating to how to conceive and symptoms of pregnancy that I can find in the hope that something will indicate something positive. I try to keep myself busy so as not to think about babies but they are everywhere . I am trying some homepoathy - Calc Carb 12 - once per week for 3 months before moving to other more traditional medication. I am 35 and fear that time is running out . I am 8 days past ovulation now and can't truthfully say I've noticed anything different. I know I will only be able to hold out for another few days before I buy a home test which I will use even though I know it's too soon . Is there anyone out there with a crystal ball or some advice??

Endless love -my pg symptoms were from 3 weeks after my last af- so about a week to 10 days after ov...at the time i thought they were just add on pmt symptoms- but I was in denial!! The hunger was quite extreme- I would eat then feel so hungry an hour later -then all day. I thought I was just being a greedy pig!!

Still not feeling any signs and I'm 10 dpo. Feeling very fed up. My skin is so greasy today which is how it usually goes when af is arriving.

Hi endlesslove i am wondering about this at the moment too. I am about 11 dpo and have had sore boobs for about 5 days and yesterday some pinkish cm. Today just now a few spots of pink/brown stuff (which is strange for me - usually most definitely AF or nothing). Am hoping so much but don't want to test yet or sure i'll be disappointed. Hmm, feel silly jumping on this thread now because have never been pg before so ican't help with any actual early symptoms of pg- sorry! Keep positive and lots of luck x

Maybemama - I have had a real rollercoaster myself - so please don't give up hope. After 4 IVfs, 1 ectopic pregnancy and 1 miscarriage - I felt ready to through the towel in. I was tired out, and worried about all the medication I had taken. I spoke with my Doctor, as I was off work with panic attacks - Had just kept thinking - I'm ok. He agreed a break would be good and told me to relax.

We planned a holiday to Mallorca and booked to go to New York for new year. In Mallorca I totally chilled out - had a few glasses of wine, read some chick lit - and had my last af (little did I know)

I truly enjoyed this holiday, and gave myself permission to think about me, and have a much earned rest where "baby" was not the only thing on the agenda. We conceived naturally! Our DD is now 13 months.

I have had hypnosis which I found to be really beneficial and enjoyable - I had this prior to the ectopic pregnancy. It focuses on relaxation and your body sending the right messages to your brain - so that it knows you are ready to be pregnant - powerful stuff! I also talked about my feelings with friends and family - as I had kept the "trying for a baby" secret.

Hi all,

Am now 5 wks pg after no af for over 85 days. Started taking metformin prescribed by fertility clinic and mut have ov immediately. Can recall being violently ill around time of implantation. Thought it was just the pills I was taking.

Other symptoms were incredibly soore boobs if dh sucked them (tmi I know... sorry). Twice I nearly punched him! Also thought it was just another thing to do with the drugs or that af might show up. Hppened to buy some clear blue digitals in our weekly shop and day before had planned to test ended up testing as went to the loo about 5 times before breakfast.. and bfp!

So for me I think the symptoms were almost immediate. For the next week felt weird stretchy feeling in lower abdomen on and off, which I have been told are quite common. Not feeling them now though.

With my ds - now 16mths - i felt sick from about 6weeks until 12weeks and that was about it.

This time - approx 5wks pg - i felt sick and had tingly boobs about 1 week after ov. Boobs have gone up a cup size - am worried as to how big they will get. I was a B cup before ds and went up to a DD but then went back to C. Now i have gone back to a D and this is only month ONE!! My tummy is quite swollen, so much so that at a family party on friday i was asked if i was pg and when i told them i was only 4-5wks they thought i was joking!!

I guess it just goes to show that all pg's are different. Or maybe this one is a girl

Hi all, I am hoping to be pg this onth as well I have a son but was in college when it happened and was i denial about the whole thing so now that I am married and trying to concieve all of these symptoms seem to run together and I am sort of frustrated trying tosingle out af and pg symptoms from one another...If you all have any more suggestions as to how to diffreintiate between the two all info. helps...I just want to stop testing early and getting the big fat - all I want is a positive pg test...Anyone else hee with me...?
