am I heading for disappointment

Hi

I would appreciate some advice and opinions.
I am 43 and have 3 dc's all conceived in my 20's and 30's. I've always wanted a 4th and we have been thinking about it for a while.
last yr I had a big shock and got pregnant accidentally. Never happened to me before. Then I had am early mc. This kind of jolted me into trying for real. My age suddenly hit home as I guess this was the reason for my mc. Ive never had one before.

We have only just started trying butij realise the scary statistics of not only getting pg but staying pg.
am I setting myself up for a fall?

Not necessarily. You got pregnant last year after all. Did you have any advice/ reason given for mc? I had children late 20s and early 30s and had a mc at 12 weeks in mid 30s. I had no plans to have any more but found myself pregnant at 43 with twins. I had started to have menopausal symptoms prior to this. My twins are now 4 1/2 and although hard work I love having young ones again.
