Morning all,

I have my suspicions I may be pregnant with number 2.We last did the deed March 26th . In the last week I have had all the symptoms under the sun: itchy nipple, gooey CM, very nauseous etc.
With my first I had given up and was about to go to the doc as I throwing up all over the place when I did the test and turned out I was 9 weeks gone. Not experienced it so early, and so I don't want to get my hopes up.
I did a test on Saturday and got a negative as you can see (top stick). Did one yesterday and got a very faint line (Sainsbury own test).
What's the deal with a faint line? Could it be a negative still? Is there even a line or am I making it up in my head?!
Shall i wait a couple more days and do another one?
Forgot to say that i was mostly irregular and wasn't charting or keeping a note of dates which is why it's harder for me to know when exactly to take a test.
Fresh eyes most welcome!
xx

It's not really shown up well as i've uploaded it but the line is a bit darker than the pic you see

Pic is too small on my phone, but good luck!

Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 09:39

Don't know if that is any better?
Does a faint line still mean negative, as it has to be very dark to be right?

Well I can see faint line but I don't know what it means! Helpful, not Hmm

HumphreyCobbler · 08/04/2014 09:43

I think you are pregnant. That looks like my line did and he is sitting on my knee helping me type

Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 09:50

Well at least other people can see a line and i'm not just making it up!
I honestly don't know what's wrong with me - i don't want to get excited or tell myself i am. Everytime i do, i say oh no i just have a tummy bug, the test didn't show up for sure. Maybe it's because i have had a lot of times when i was so sure i was as i had the same kinda symptoms but i then got AF or a BFN days in a row. That's why i wasn't so sure with a faint line.
You're right though maybe i'll test again with a digital one and see?
It's actually hubbie's birthday on the 15th so if i am, that's my present sorted, cheapest present i've given him to date, result lol!!

Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 12:44

Oooo! Will re-test then I can get excited!

So I did a CB digital one and it says not pregnant???

I had a negative on Saturday, that faint line above yesterday and CB today says not pregnant.
As I said I don't know when I'm due as I am irregular and now I feel utterly depressed. Is the CB the accurate one? Is it possible the faint line yesterday was an error? What do I do now? Any advice ladies?

Clear blue are not very sensitive. Maybe try frer I've heard they are quite good.

Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 17:10

Whats frer?

Is it possible to get a fake faint line on the Sainsbury one I did above?

OP posts:
Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 20:18

Have been reading online that maybe you can get a false positive?

OP posts:
babyrose · 08/04/2014 20:47

First response I've read they pick up hcg hormones better. I defo see a cross in the 2nd pic!

Fleurlur · 08/04/2014 21:10

False positives are incredibly unlikely, so very very rare whereas false negatives are quite common when there's little HCG to pick up. I would retest again in a few days with a first response one which I think is more sensitive!

Fleurlur · 08/04/2014 21:10

Ps I definitely see the line!

Noodles81 · 08/04/2014 22:21

Thank you. I just don't don't understand why it would go from a faint pos to a digital negative? That's why i think it may have been an error, that and the fact that it was so faint.

I see a line! I tested 2 times a day from 9DPO with my daughter and created a timeline of tests (I'd bought 40 strips so thought I may as well) and they start off so faint that I had to hold them in a certain light and they get ever so slightly darker every day :) I test again first thing! Good luck!!

cookielove · 08/04/2014 22:27

Clear blue digital test are less sensitive which could explain the negative however I hsve had two false faint positives on sainsbury tests. I would retest in tge morning with a first response.

MincingOnBy · 08/04/2014 23:09

I can't see the line on the picture but may just be because it's quite small on my screen. Good luck. I would also give a first response a go and try to hold out a few days if still faint or inconclusive looking, then try again and see if its darkened

Noodles81 · 09/04/2014 07:29

Thanks for the advice guys, but for some reason am feeling a lot less hopeful especially hearing Sainsbury has given false positives.
Also seems like the itchy nipple and nausea seems to have gone down which isn't right is it if anything it should be getting stronger. I think I'll just leave it and not re test, really hate that sudden feeling of disappointment. I'll just put that very faint line down to system error.

Just thought I would update. I just did Asda own brand and First Response and both a clear single line so a total BFN.
Cheers Sainsbury. :-(

Oh, I was about to say that I got a faint line on a Sainsbury's own brand 4 days before AF due and DS is now 2.1!
