ttc need some encouragement please :(

hi everyone im new to this and am in need of some encouragement.... this is my 1st month of ttc and ive been driving myself mad with symptoms for the past 2 weeks!! are they all in my head? ive done 4 hpts within the 2 wks the last one was 2 days ago and all were bpn (cheapy tests) im due af today/tomorrow but have no signs of her at all in fact i feel pregnant but again is this all in my head? i want to test again today but worried about getting another big fat negative :( i never knew how frustrating and expensive this ttc habit was! any advice eill be gratefully recieved im driving myself mad! x

Hi heidi, welcome!! I can't really say if the symptoms are in your head, most of us are sods for symptom spotting, but aome facts and figures might help you a little bit. Especially to cut down on the money for HPTs!

So, it is unlikely you will get a BFP any earlier than 10 days after ovulation. Even if you are pregnant it takes time for the levels to work up enough to be detected in the urine. There is no point testing as early as it sounds like you have - it will be BFN either way. I know it's easier said than done but even the best tests don't work before 6 days period to AF and that's if you ovulate at the normal date.

Also, if you are pregnant, HGc is said to double every day so a BFN one day can be a BFP two days later as it is high enough to be detected.

In an ideal world you would test day after AF is due using FMU. Don't worry though, lots of us are good at the advice and rubbish at following it!

af was due today but got no symptoms... i tested today with first response and got bpn again :( what is fmu? x

I've found the only way to stop myself from doing tests to early is to have none in the house - otherwise I just go a bit mad too

You know your body. I'm ttc with 1st child too. Im waiting for a period now until I do a test. I do feel different but could this all be down to the shagging we have been doing?
