Hi all, new to the site and just after some advice as think my partner is sick of me talking babies lol.
I currently have the implant in and am due to marry 30th august 2014. I'm going to mexico on 8th September for 2 week honeymoon n would like to start trying as soon after the wedding as possible. I was debating when would be a good idea to have implant removed and wether it would be a good idea or not to try whilst away or wether that's a bad choice with the flight home? Any advice welcome.
Thanks Steph x

Personally I'd have the implant removed asap. The hormones will take a while to leave your system and your cycle willl take a while to return to normal.

We got married in March last year and started ttc in September. Although the original plan was to start ttc right away, I wanted to drink on my honeymoon haha! In hindsight I'm glad we waited as it allowed us time to enjoy our marriage a little first. Ttc has been stressful for me and that takes its toll on a relationship. Hopefully you will fall quickly though! Good luck whatever you decide. X

Thanks but I really don't want to wait me n my partner have lived together last 5 years n dnt want to leave it also dnt know if it will take me a while as I have endometriosis.

I counter the comment above by saying you have no idea how long it will take so start whenever you are ready. Waiting a year for no other reason than to wait could add a year to a journey that takes longer than you ever would have thought anyway.

I wasn't on any medicated contraception so can't advice on that but I know it can take a while to regulate so many people to come off before wedding to allow you to start sooner. Someone with more experience will be along to tell you more though I'm sure!

Congrats for August too!! Hope TTC is quick and easy for you!

Have it out asap and use condoms until the wedding. It can take a while for cycles to settle after using hormonal BC.

What is Ttc? Main reason for not having implant out now as didn't want to have a period on my wedding day n spoil my dress:/ xx

My periods were always heavy n long n irregular so was concerned how they would effect me, n yeah dulcetmoans that's wat I was thinking if it's going to take a while which I'm convinced it will I don't meant to unnesesarily wait around before I try. X

TTC - Trying To Conceive
That would be pretty bad luck. Do your periods usually start full flow or do you get some notice (ie. cramps/ spotting) ?

ThoraNomiki · 06/04/2014 21:09

Might be worth leaving it until you get back from honeymoon. Enjoy not worrying about condoms, periods and babies in the run up to your big day Smile

Sjenner14 · 06/04/2014 21:25

I was gunna have it taken out the day after we get bk so I know I can enjoy myself but just was worried about leaving it longer if I was gunna struggle to conceive. I have no idea how my cycles will be I've only had 1 period in last few years and not had regular periods for last 10 years. Xx

To be honest it sounds like you've already made your mind up what you want to do.... If you did fall pregnant on the honeymoon I don't think the flight will really affect anything that early! Just do what works for you, good luck x

Sjenner14 · 06/04/2014 21:55

Thanks, it's like I'm having an argument in my head 1 min I'm set on leaving alone till after honeymoon next min I'm thinking what if I try earlier :/ it's true wa they say about there never been the perfect time x

Well I wouldn't try earlier in case you don't fit in your wedding dress!! ;-) The honeymoon is for a fortnight? So if you start trying straight after you've only waited two extra weeks, and you'll get to drink and relax while you're away (which trust me you'll need after the stress of wedding planning Grin )

Sjenner14 · 06/04/2014 22:55

Lol tell me bout it. Ya we go a week after wedding for 2 weeks. I def Wudnt of tried before wedding lol I'd b devastated as havin to slim to get into my dress as it is now lol x
