No wonder nothing's bloody well happening if I'm ovulating almost as soon as I finish my period.

Its made me cry for some really unknown reason

I guess I just didn't realise you can ovulate this early in the cycle

I've been telling friends who are ttc without checking when they ovulate to do this as I thought I'd be fine the day after my period...

It's only normal to be upset, but honestly, do try and focus on the positive of this x

I've caught twice on day 6 so all is not lost! At least you now know. Try having sex from the last day of your period next month. It doesn't necessarily mean a problem. I think it's a much bigger problem if you ovulate very close to your next period. Good luck

That happened to me. In a 28 day cycle I assumed it what's the 14th but I had to focus on. My doctor was telling me to do it every day from day nine until day 14. When I got an ovulation predictor test I found I was ovulating on day 18. Having said that that month I got pregnant!

I'm almost hoping this happens to me this month! Starting using opks after 6 months ttc. Would be lovely if it were as simple as dtding at the wrong time!!

Me too - I am on cycle 11 and the first cycle of using opks. I got CB digis. I have 25 day cycles, all apps and advice sayd I am like to ov CD 15. I used the opk this time. And had a positive CD 8.

We dtd 6 & 8 so fx it worked!! It was a bit of a shocke tbh but if i don't get a bfp this time i will be more prepared next month!

Can I just ask, when you used to predict your own ovulation date, did you go by signs/symptoms or was it just a calculated guess? Just wondering if I could be thinking wrong by only going by my fertile cm signs?

When I had 28 day cycles I calculated and caught then miscarried and have been on 24/25 day cycles ever since and I can't tell now.

I don't check my cm as it's the same all cycle
The only true indicator I've found that's a reliable sign I'm ovulating is an increase in sex drive and this usually happens around now and also mid cycle, but I tend to ignore the early cycle rise

hi, I conceived DC2 on day 7 of my cycle (based on the 12w scan being in fact 13 weeks). I also conceived a miscarried pregnancy at, ahem, a safe time of the month (day after AF finished), though obviously in that case the little swimmers could have survived a few days.

I knew I had short cycles (23 days sometimes) but I never thought about being fertile earlier in the cycle. think this is where we were going wrong with trying to conceive DC1 too. Throw in a long visit from AF and that's the opportunity gone.

dietcoke - now that I am a mumsnetter older and wiser I realise that the signs were there all along, and I can accuractely predict AF from the CM, and that ties in with ovulating straight after AF finishes too. But if you are TTC I would use the ov sticks.

My dd is a surrogate baby and our surrogate got pregnant the day before her period was due. We'd tested and tried for months with never actually getting an opk surge, she noticed a temperature dip pattern, tested and rang and said ummmm bit weird but ... And here Is 15 yr old dd

I ovulate a few days before my period. Was about 10 days out when ttc

I'm going to OpK daily, I think I'm missing it too. I'm an 'only DTD on fertile week'er too, now going to go full cycle every other day xx

Yes, I ovulate days after my period. I got caught out on that one too.

Used to be a 28 dayer bella but now a 24/25 dayer

It was purely by chance I did the OPK really as wasn't going to start for another few days, glad I did now!

I've told DH we now need to dtd from the last day of my period and he wasn't impressed!

Does anyone know if OV can be delayed at all? Because as I am oving so early we don't get the window of being able to have sex for 3-5 days prior to ovulation because I'm on my period in that time.

Am I now stuck as an early ovulater?

I got pregnant with my first on day7 but my second on day14 so might not be the same every month ?

Have sex three times a week and then it won't matter !!

I caught quickly with my first 2, totally misjudged when I would have been ovulating with dc3. Are you happy to have sex on your period? If so and you do it consistently you should catch quickly, fingers crossed.
