i had my first child at 40 and have been trying to have a second. i am now 43, i have had three miscarriages in the last 2 years. does anyone know anything about the rate of success of second or third pregnancies at such a late age. idont know anyone who has two children, who were both born over the age of 40. not sure whether to to persue second child, if the chances of success are very low. as a succession of miscarriages is very hard work. anyone out there know anything. thank you

Thank you for all your posts in this thread. In the nicest way, it's great to know there are other people out there with similar issues and also some success stories. It's a lift.

However, I reserve the right to use MN to be angry, bad-tempered and down-right miserable! It's the only place I have to go for this stuff.

I now have an appt to see Prof Regan next month. I don't really know how I feel about this, even thinking about ttc after all that has happened (3 m/cs) makes me feel rather sick and shaky. But I would like to get the best advice, and so will try to look forward to the appt with positivity!

Nicola, have you chatted with LateNightOwl? She's 44 and ttc her first too. I think she is just starting IVF. You might be able to compare stories or pick up hints from each other. She is sometimes around in the Hut of Gloom.

Just a suggestion
