TTC for the third month running following mc in November... using OPKs this month

had no second line until a faint one appeared on 12th march. DTD that evening. Strong second line on morning of 13th March, DTD that afternoon and that evening.

Was that the right time to do it?

I read on another forum yesterday that you have to DTD for 4 days after you have a strong second line...

I was under the impression that positive meant you will ov in next 24-48 hrs? I've just been asking for advice on another thread because I just got my first ever positive on a clear blue digital but my instruction booklet does say within 24/48 hours.

If you did it that afternoon and that evening, that's pretty good. I've read on here that sperm can live for 2/3 days inside.

You usually ovulate 12-48 hours after a positive, on average women ovulate 32 hours after. Sperm can survive for a few days if healthy and in the right conditions, and it's better to dtd before you ovulate (1 or 2 days before) so you caught the right time. Don't worry.

You don't need to dtd for four days after a positive, just do it every other day throughout your cycle.

blamber I'm a bit confused, once I get a positive I don't have to dtd? But what if i ov 24 hours after that positive? Surely I need to dtd.

blamber · 17/03/2014 08:41

That's not at I meant. Good times to dtd is day before or day of positive. Sperm needs time to swim up the Fallopian tubes and can then survive for 2-5 days or so. Best is to dtd regularly throughout your cycle. No need to dtd every day is what I meant, if oh's sperm is healthy.

Fingers crossed for healthy sperms!
