No sign of AF, but negative tests! Newbie in need of advice!

Hiya, i'm new to mumsnet and trying for my first baby! AF was due 6 days ago, did a PG test yesterday but was negative :( any advice on when to test again and what test to use?

I had this last month but unfortunately wasn't pregnant.
I'd say first response early result are the most trustworthy and sensitive.

Keep testing til you either get a positive or AF. With my first it took a week of testing before I got a positive, and AF was a week late before I did the first test. As I was bankrupting myself I moved onto cheapo tests, and straight away got the right answer! All the best

I know i keep thinking the more expensive tests are gunna be the best/most sensitive but i'm guessing this isn't the case. I suppose if i'm PG it will show in time no matter how expensive the test! Thanks a lot :)

I have this eeeevery month! I just wait it out and af arrives eventually! But you might be one of the rare/lucky ones that gets a late bfp. It's weird, my body knew I was ttc and suddenly made my cycles 40 days long! Grrr

Oh man! Sometimes the stress and anticipation of waiting for a BFP can cause your AF to come late, i'm trying to relax and not think about it too much but it's so hard and frustrating not knowing 1 way or the other!! Good luck!

Im in the same boat on CD 39 getting negatives AF was due last Sunday.. Never ever had a cycle this long.. This is my 7th cycle ttc #1

I also had this I was 14 days late then AF come.
I'd just wait it out and if you want to test do it every 2-3 days rather than every day don't wanna work yourself up to much.
I'd also never been late untill this month :(

Thanks wine i'll nip and buy some today! It's so frustrating isn't it broody i just wanna know whats going on.
