Hi mrsPollyP and welcome to MN.

I went through a stage of having really strong ovulation pains. They seemed to get stronger after my second and third pregnancies.I'm not sure why.

I'm a bit of an old hippy I guess so I thought of them holistically as a kind of yearning message. I felt they were strong announcements from my ovaries.

I've had my four kids now and am happy to stick there. These days I don't get the pains any more.

Hi spidermama, I hadn't thought of it like that but I guess I've been yearning more lately so that would fit! I've never been pregnant before. I thought it would be one quick pain and then nothing, not a few days of discomfort. Oh well , I guess if it is that then at least I know when I ov...

Hiya... Just dropped in to say I get these... GP thought it might be endometriosis or PID, but I had a laparoscopy and it was all clear. Its just something I have to grin and bear. Go to GP to rule out endo, PID, have a smear etc. Good Luck xxx

Hi I am new to this too although ttc number 2. I have only recently come off the pill but last night and today (day 14 and 15 of cycle) I have had really bad cramping pains like perios pains. It is really hurting tonight and I was wondering if this was a sign of ovulation. KNowing my luck it will be as my dh is working a night shift tonight!! We last 'did the deed' the night before last - that could have worked couldn't it? I have definitely never experienced ovulation pains before but I'm sure that must be what it is.

Hi all, I've had ov pains every month starting at around day 12 or 13 of my cycle for years, but after having my dd last year they are more pronounced. Nevertheless, the discomfort is very mild. If you have really cramping pains perhaps you should see your doc just to be on the safe side.
