I've been getting positive opk results for 9 days now....... Have is ovulated at all? Are the tests rubbish? It's 5 weeks since I had my Mirena coil removed. I'd had it for 6 yrs so no idea of my cycle now!

Did you know that opk tests react positively if you are pregnant? If I were you, I'd poas.

I thought that, but got a BFN yesterday..... But then it might be too early? And I did the test at night. And it's a cheap test. Clutching at straws here, I'm so impatient! We have been DTD every other day just in case!

When you say positive, is the test line as strong or stronger than the control line, if it is fainter then its not a positive!

Assuming that the line is the same strength, it could be either your pregnant, but unlikely if you have tested negative with a pregnancy test, or the more likely option is that after coming off the Mirena your body is trying to get back to normal and is trying to ovulate.

Good luck, fx it is a BFP for you soon :)

Oh and you need to do pregnancy tests in the morning with your first morning urine (fmu) you will get a more accurate result (especially this early), pink dye tests also bring out pregnancy clearer. :)

Hi cookielove, the test line has been really strong for the last 7 days with 2 days where it was bordering on the same as the control line. I took that as a pretty good positive?
I was wondering if the Mirena had affected it. I'll poas again over the weekend and test using morning pee.
Thanks for your replies!

Good gawd I got ANOTHER strong positive opk tonight. What's going on? Dh is off to buy a Pregnancy test for the morning. This is all very confusing. Wish I hadn't bothered with opk! Although it's giving me something to obsess about! Blush

Managed to hold off poas today. will do it tomorrow morning. I just don't know my cycle at all anymore. pre-coil I was 29 day cycle, ovulated around day 12-15.... could predict to the day. Now I'm reading signs that just probably are not there! Sad Sad

I really hope you get a BFP, but another explanation might be that you have PCOS, which can give high LH levels through the month. Or it could be that things are just settling down from the mirena.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 08/03/2014 21:31

I had my first flashing smiley this morning :) very excited as was only second stick of month! Yesterday it was blank. So going to dtd everyday :)

toothachereturns · 08/03/2014 21:42

Thank you. Smile

I don't think I have pcos. My sis has that and has been through hell for years. I have no symptoms of it at the mo.
It's been nearly 5 wks since I had the mirena removed so the 10 days og opks must be down to that? I have stopped using the opks for now! I will test in the morning and then try to contain myself for another week or so until af arrives (or not Grin ). It seemed so simple with my first 2..... wanted to get pg ... so did!
My dh had vasectomy reversal last year that was remarkably successful in terms of the sperm count at his follow up appointment. It was in the top scale of sperm count results after a reversal. but it's playing on my mind. Sad
