Can starting folic acid lengthen your cycle?

Hello,

Last month I stayed to take Seven Seas 'Trying for a Baby' ahead of ttc, starting properly this month.

However, for the first time ever my clockwork 23-24 day cycle jumped to 26 days (causing much excitement before AF finally made an appearance).

Has anyone else noticed this? There are no side-effects mentioned on the box.

Any change in diet or "shock" to the body can upset your cycle. I quit smoking and started taking prenatal multivitamins. My cycle length has gone from irregular 30-32 days down to 26-27 day cycles. Have you changed your diet/lifestyle in any way other than the folic?

Its the vitamin b6 in it :-)

I also take this! I had 28/32 & that's straight off the pill.

First two months taking it I had the lovely runs & this month its been the opposite! X

Hello fellow gingerbread-er! I have read several people mention that taking prenatal vitamins can upset your cycle a bit, I was taking pregnacare for a month or two before I had my longest cycle ever - 34 days, usually 26. I stopped taking it, and now just take folic acid with vit D, although I think I need to start taking Vit b6 too as my luteal phase is too short....the things you learn on mumnset!

Wow! Maybe us gingerbread types are very sensitive to it! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm hoping that a longer cycle could be good (gives embie longer to burrow! ) so maybe it is a good thing!
