OMG Beetle!!! I had no idea you had a BFP!! I have everything cemented crossed for you Grin

I know you are abroad but is it possible for you to have a scan at a different hospital to the one you had to deliver in? I totally appreciate how you feel. I could never go back to the scan place we found out about the MMC at.

It's an FET so no stimming. Period arrived today so baseline scan on Friday.

nobeer · 26/03/2014 21:46

Sad beetle. Atough time for you. Thinking of you and hope everything works out ok.

Not much longer for you val!

I'm feeling better so FET on Sat. Fingers crossed some embies will make it to 5 day blast. I'm not thinking beyond that, one step at a time works best for me mentally.

Grrrr. Damn ipad just lost what I've spent ages writing...

Beetle: congratulations on your BFP! I understand your being cautious but its wonderful news.

Res: sorry to hear your cycle had to be cancelled. Sending you lots of luck (and a thickening lining vibes) for your April cycle.

No beer: having had numerous STI's I sympathise. Hope it clears up quickly and your April cycle is a success!

Time: you sound like a very strong woman. My hats goes off to you. What a woman.

Afm: we have 4 embryos on day 4 and I'm hoping that they will reach blastosist state tomorrow. Any ready before 10am will be biopsied along with the frozen ones (we have 5) and should there be viable ones (please god!) then the transfer will happen Friday. Any ones that still reach blastosist stage after 10 will be biopsied on Friday and frozen for a a future FET. I am hopeful but mindful that having had 3 transfers of 5 blastosists that its the unknown implantation part of the process that my body seems to struggle with.

Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned. Hope all is well. X

Sorry nobeer: obvs confused and thought you had had your cycle cancelled as well. Good luck with impending transfer. It looks like we will be going through the 2ww wait together. X

vallinnapod · 26/03/2014 22:05

Unfortunately on Clexane so I will have one jab a day Sad

Where are you based Beetle? My Ultra Baby (various locations around London) is £65....

Fingers crossed for you Bears...PS Hope you meant UTI Wink

Bearsandhoney · 26/03/2014 22:12
Blush

Yes, meant UTI. Oops!

starsandmoonandback · 27/03/2014 07:51

Beetle, feotal medicine centre is £100 or so for scan. And money goes on research. They are lovely there (also London) Ill be thinking of you over the next week honey. A really difficult time for you I imagine. This little 6 week bean is meant to help you through. Hugs. Xx

Good luck to all those of you about to have transfer. And extra good luck you get some viable embies Bear.

Smile
starsandmoonandback · 27/03/2014 07:52

Res, hope you're ok. Will PM you (long overdue I know Blush )

nobeer · 27/03/2014 08:25

Thanks for making me smile bears!

beetle i've got 12 3day embies. They're going to do some tests on all of them for chromosone abnormalities and then take them to 5 day. I'm feeling a bit dodgy again so rang clinic but they're already in process of defrosting them. They've told me to drink plenty and ring back if I feel worse. Had a bit of a cry.

Bearsandhoney · 27/03/2014 08:38

No beer: if you haven't tried this already : go get yourself some cranberry juice and make sure that you are drinking lots of water too (sorry if I am telling you something you already know). Even if you are taking medicines this should help. It's terribly uncomfortable at the best of times, let alone at such a crucial time for you. Hope you feel back to normal very soon! X

Bearsandhoney · 27/03/2014 09:10

Thanks stars Smile

vallinnapod · 27/03/2014 09:11

Nobeer have you got antibiotics?? There is one they can give you that is safe in pregnancy. In fact when I had EC with DS (2010) they gave antibiotics as standard. This must have changed as didn't get them in Nov or Feb.

Turquoisetamborine · 27/03/2014 11:33

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on much. I'm finding it all a lot to cope with so I've kind of withdrawn from everything. I went back to work on Monday and had a horrific day yesterday with people screaming at me. My blood pressure was soaring and I was shaking with anger. I don't know why my manager didn't put me behind the scenes.

Anyway, I've now gone sick. The IVF, chest infection and horrible customers are too much to cope with at once. I'll go back week after next. Test date is next Friday.

I didn't reply to the insensitive message sent to me. If that's what makes her feel good then let her get on with it.

Congratulations Beetle I didn't realise you'd had a BFP, hope you get a scan.
Nobeer sounds like you need antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.
Bear hope your embies are growing nicely.
Hello everyone else.

eurochick · 27/03/2014 11:49

beetle I second the FMC for a scan. They have state of the art equipment and lovely drs. I had my Harmony test and related scans there and am going back for my 20 week scan, rather than the NHS.

Price list is here: www.fetalmedicine.com/fmc/treatment-fees/

vallinnapod · 27/03/2014 12:43

Out of interest Euro why are you having your 20 week scan there too? This isn't a judgy pants question Grin If I could afford it I would have all my DCs privately...although I wasonly in hospitaly for 14 hours in total when I had DS so that would have been a waste of several grand [simle]

eurochick · 27/03/2014 12:58

Because I really liked them (great equipment and drs, very thorough) and we had the money ready to do another IVF round this Spring. As we don't need the cash for that, we have spent it on the independent midwife and private scans instead. And now I've started down the private route, it seems easier to stick with it than to mix things up.

nobeer · 27/03/2014 13:24

Thank you, am now on cranberry juice! I was on antibiotics, it's a short course especially for UTIs and seemed to clear it up, I was fine yesterday afternoon but it seemed to have come back this morning. I rang clinic and they said just to make sure I drink plenty. But if I'm in agony tomorrow I'll call them back, and ask if I should take different antibiotics. At the moment it's uncomfortable but bearable.
The lab just rang, all the embies have defrosted and they've taken a biopsy from all of them. We won't get the results until Saturday just before we have the transfer when a doctor will explain the results.

vallinnapod · 27/03/2014 13:55

Ohhh...I would be really interested to here about the private midwife. If I get PG again and it is a singleton I am very keen on a HB with an independent MW. I would also definately go to FMC for the Harmony test.

It's a bugger as I had DS at UCH who are trialling the Harmony test on the NHS...moved though which wouldn't make it practical to have care there.

Everything crossed for you nobeer

Bearsandhoney · 27/03/2014 14:18

Turq: time off and away from stress sounds just what you need. It's hard to understand just how stressful this process can be and things that you can usually take in your stride become much more difficult to handle. Gentle long walks in the spring sunshine might help to calm you and bring you some equilibrium. Thinking of you. Xx

No beers: we are at such a similar stage. We had our embryos tested today as well. Of the 4 that were going yesterday, 3 have made blastosist and 1 is still being watched and if it progresses will be biopsied tomorrow. From the 5 that were frozen I think they said that they all thawed and have been biopsied meaning that there are 8 in contention for this fresh round. Scarily the embryologist said that they would expect between 1 and 3 to be viable. It just goes to show what a numbers game this shitty process is.

My fingers are crossed (for both of us). My transfer will be (god willing) tomorrow afternoon.

I'm off work today and tomorrow, and have been baking (its my sons nursery cake stall this afternoon) and am off to pick u a load of pirate themed stuff for his birthday party (will be baking again tomorrow!). I thought it might make me more relaxed to potter about for a couple of days around transfer (and I cannot take next week off work although having said that I think work will help to take my mind off of the dreaded 2ww).

Waves to everyone. Smile Xx
