Brilliant turq. That is good newsSmile

moggle · 19/03/2014 13:35

Turq, that is a good result, I'm so glad they didn't have to delay it.
MaryP well done on not testing early!
wish I hope being back at work today hasn't been too awful. A holiday away with your mum sounds like a great idea and the weather will be beautiful then.

I am still lurking and reading to see how everyone is getting on. So far so good with me, the CB conception indicator test I did on Monday and massive sore boobs tell me I am still pregnant. I have one more CB test to do at the weekend when hopefully it will have changed to 3wks+, then it's just waiting for the scan next Friday when I think I should be 6wks4days. I have not had many symptoms apart from the boobs and general tiredness, and having cramps a few times a day but no spotting so think it's just things stretching out. Fingers crossed that things stay uneventful. Shamrock

nobeer · 19/03/2014 14:10

Hi all. I'm back from scan. My lining is now 5.2mm and I have no idea if this good or bad at this stage! Next scan on Friday. Bears I'll be having FET so not EC. Doctor said I'll get a few days notice. They also have to defrost embies and test them, and then see how many get to 5 day blasto. Will update more on Friday.

resipsa · 19/03/2014 14:41

What CD are you on Nobeer?

OP posts:
Bearsandhoney · 19/03/2014 19:41

No beer: Sorry, i had forgotten you were doing a FET. Not sure if this helps but I have found my lining to be on the thinner side but this time it seems to be a bit better. I have tried to up my walking to get the blood flowing through my nether regions. Ive also heard vitamin E is good. It could just as easily be down to other things but thought I would mention it....

You also mention about testing: is that the PGD? We are going to do the same and I am quite anxious about it. I am also working myself up thinking that we have immune issues and that even if we find a good blastosist it won't work without all the immune testing and treatments. Does anyone here have any experience of immune issues?

Turq: well done on the EC and getting a couple of eggs. My fingers (and everything else) are crossed for a successful fertilisation. It's always an anxious wait. I think the saying goes: IOTO!

I haven't felt like a glass of wine for a while but tonight I could just murder one...not sure why? Blush

nobeer · 19/03/2014 19:55

Hi Res, I think I'm on CD6 but as my last period was a bit weird, I'm not sure. On Monday the doctor said she thought I'd have a short cycle this time, around 26 days but she said it looks like things are slowing down a bit. I did chart my cycle for a while with temps etc but I could never see a pattern very clearly. Nowadays just make a note of when period starts and any weird spotting or migraines. I was having migraines every month but haven't had one for a couple of months now.

Bears, yes I think that's what our tests are called. I'm not worrying about it too much as there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. If it gives me a greater chance of conceiving a healthy child, then we're going for it.

resipsa · 19/03/2014 19:58

Well, my lining was 6mm at Day 12 so if you're about Day 6, I'd say you're good to go (unlike me hence the 9 pills a day!).

OP posts:
resipsa · 19/03/2014 20:02

Off to get mine rechecked tomorrow at 8. It should feel odd to start the day with a TV scan but it no longer does Hmm. Life has changed. I'm feeling negative about this FET already; can you tell?

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 19/03/2014 20:13

Hope tomorrow goes well res & thank you fur ask those positive vibes!

Hi to nobeer, turq, bears, cwtch, life, & everyone else lurking

Bearsandhoney · 19/03/2014 20:15

6mm on day 6 is good so don't worry Smile

nobeer · 19/03/2014 21:09

Thanks res and bears. It might not be day 6, it might be 8 or 9 if I take into account the weird spotting I had. I'm not too worried anyway, I'm sure they'd soon tell me if I needed to start taking some pills. I think I've given up stressing about this. I've got enough going on at work!
Good luck tomorrow res, I hope those 9 pills a day are doing their job.

Turquoisetamborine · 20/03/2014 08:57

Res how did your scan go?
nobeer Mary Bears good morning hope you are all enjoying this wonderful wind, oops or is that just the bum bullets I'm on!

I've had the call, one egg is not mature enough but one is good quality and has fertilised. I know we have more chance of winning the lottery than a pregnancy resulting from two egg collected but it is a tiny glimmer of hope. Embryo transfer is tomorrow.

My son was conceived against the odds so just maybe God will bless us again.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 20/03/2014 09:31

Morning everyone,

have just got back from the clinic and have been told that they have found something when the tested for the MTHRFR gene and that I am to start taking Clexane (thrombosis injections). The receptionist couldn't give me any more info and the Dr wasnt available. I've got an appointment with a geneticist in May but as you can imagine I am gutted. I came home crying thinking that that is the end of the road then for this round. Have consulted Dr I know I shouldn't but I can't help it and it seems that you can still get pregnant with the gene and the injections should help to prevent miscarriages. Does anyone on here have any ideas? Until I have spoken to the Dr I am not going to know what is going on but I thought maybe someone here might be clued up on this gene?

WannabeMaryPoppins · 20/03/2014 09:32

Turq you never know, that may be the one embie that you Need. Hang on in there!
Waves to Nobeer, Res, Bears and all the other wonderful egg buddies

resipsa · 20/03/2014 10:02

Turq - I know it's disappointing when you are left with fewer than you hoped but fingers crossed for you that it is the one you need.

Mary P - no idea but a bit crass of them to advise you about this in the middle of the 2WW! Let us know what you find out.

AFM, bad(ish) news - I hate this stuff - lining has not grown beyond 6mm in 3 days and so now I have to keep on going until, I suppose it does or I get cancelled. So frustrating as this is a new problem - been pregnant without assistance twice and lining never been an issue Confused.

OP posts:
Turquoisetamborine · 20/03/2014 10:41

Mary did your doctor suggest these genetic tests? I don't know anything about them I'm afraid but you might get a BFP and prove them all wrong. I'm praying you do.

Res I don't understand about lining problems either. Are you trying to reduce the thickness of your lining?

nobeer · 20/03/2014 10:49

Hi Mary, just quickly replying as at work. I saw someone on here had the "motherfucker" gene but can't remember who. have also seen it mentioned on the fertility friends Forum too. Chin up love, hopefully taking the injections will help. Do a search on mumsnet too. hugs xx

resipsa · 20/03/2014 13:14

Turq - no, trying to get it to 8mm minimum. Seem to be stuck at 6mm! On max dose of estrogen + steroid + aspirin already.

OP posts:
nobeer · 20/03/2014 13:20

Hi Mary, me again. I was just thinking, it is shit timing of the clinic, but maybe, just maybe, they've found out in time and getting you on the Clexane will give you a fighting chance.

Turq all the best for tomorrow, I really hope this one works for you.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 20/03/2014 20:05

Thanks for your replies guys. Did lots of searches on here and Google and then managed to speak to a Dr. Apparently there is a slight Problem with one of the gene strands. However, they assured me that it was nothing serious and that some clinics wouldn't even treat it. But as there is a Chance that it might cause a miscarriage or Implantation Problems I have been prescribed the clexane as it can still make a difference even at this early stage (she says optimistically). The Dr. also assured me that all was not lost and that I still may be pregnant (I Keep telling myself that DS was conceived and Born without any of this). Am relieved but will get more info at the appointment in May. Yes, it is shit Timing, but that is partly my fault. After the FET the plan was to go straight into the fresh cycle but my previous Dr "forgot" that we Needed to have all the tests from 2011 done again. My new Dr told me that the results of this test would take up to 4 weeks and I just assumed it would come back negative and went ahead with the stimms. Will soon find out if that was wise or not.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 20/03/2014 20:08

Res, really hope that lining thickens up for.
Turq, good luck for tomorrow. Are you going back to work next week or have you been signed off?
Nobeer, good luck for your appointment tomorrow. Do let us know how you get on.
Bears, how are you today?

Fabuluce · 20/03/2014 21:59

it was me with the mothefucker gene mutation!! marypops -one of the big probs with it is that it means your body doesn't deal with folic acid properly so I was advised to take pregnacare max which has methyl folate and apparently our bodies deal better with that. Clexane is to keep the blood flowing to your womb so keep walking regularly as well as that also helps and good luck lovely Smile

Waves furiously at all the old timers Grin

Turquoisetamborine · 20/03/2014 22:06

That's true Mary you didn't even know about this before and you got pregnant so I'm sure it's not a big thing.

Res hope your lining thickens quickly.

neebeer let us know how your appointment goes.

I love the support we give each other on here, it's a lifesaver.

Mary I was planning on going back to work next week. Is that not a good idea? I'm worried I would just sit thinking if i was off and I'm also conscious we may need more cycles so don't want to take the piss.

Turquoisetamborine · 20/03/2014 22:06

nobeer obviously, that's the Geordie in me coming out!

Bearsandhoney · 20/03/2014 22:28

Maryp: glad you got some clarification from the doctor and that they are erring in the side of caution. That's not to deny that these developments are going to freak you out! I hope the 2ww isn't too torturous for you. Having tested early on my previous 3 cycles I have a feeling I might do a res and go the long haul. I can't bear the thought of another disappointment and am thinking blissful ignorance might be the way to go.

Turq: I have heard so many times that ladies have gotten pregnant from their only embryo (or even a poor quality one) so I really hope that this good quality embryo is THE one my love.

No beer: hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

Res: sending your lining some 'thickening' vibes ...

AFM: I had a blood test today and thought nothing of it until DH called me saying the clinic had been trying to get hold of me this evening. When I spoke to them it turns out that my LH levels have risen and I need to trigger tonight (deed is done). I was expecting to trigger tomorrow at the earliest so I am a little unnerved and am worrying that the follis's haven't had enough time to grow enough (at least to allow the smaller ones to catch up). I am also worried that my lining isn't think enough (I am always borderline) as my scan yesterday showed it to be 6.4. I am trying not to get stressed but not really succeeding. EC is set for Saturday morning.

Hope you are all having a nice evening ... Waves to you all. X
