SMEP??

I'm thinking of trying SMEP this cycle. Anyone tried it out? Opinions? Also going to try using a digital opk?

Hi NewlymrsB! I am planning to try SMEP this month. I've ordered some cheap ebay OPKs and will start testing next Monday. Hoping for a BFP in March as I had a miscarriage at Christmas.

Currently on 3rd cycle, 1st two cycles tried SMEP-nothing. This cycle, DTD every day from CD8 to CD26 (bar Valentines Day for some reason!!) on the advice from my sister who has 2 kids. Last Friday (CD30 and 11DPO, got a faint line on a FRER. Testing tomorrow morning to see if it is darker!

Yes, I can't tell you the science and I know that scientifically SMEP SHOULD work but we didn't seem to have any luck with it.

Oh and good luck Kitty. I had a faint line on the FRER on a Saturday afternoon and then by the next day 99p shop cheapies were instantly coming up positive, so sounds promising.

We had been ttc for 6 months when we tried smep worked first time, ended in a mmc! Got pregnant by accident in Jan this year and dtd nowhere near ovulation time, go figure!

Did smep for two months with no joy then got my BFP third go when we'd had sex three times the whole cycle! Did it (I think) in ovulation day though. I think there's no real rhyme or reason. I do think it's worth mixing it up a bit.

Never tried smep but plenty of ov kits to no avail.

Shagging every day for about 9 days did the trick though. I personally don't believe in doing it every other day or just around ovulation. Didn't work for us but everybody is different so it might still work for you.
