TTC2 After Fertility Treatment for First Child

Just wondering if you had assisted conception/IUI/IVF etc first time around how long you tried naturally TTC2 before paying out for more fertility treatment?
First child was IUI (3 years TTC) due to crappy eggs and I'm wondering how long I should persue the natural route before paying out for IUI again. Or seeing as I'm not getting any younger (37), maybe I should just bite the bullet and go straight back to IUI again (Oh how I have missed you Dildocam).

We went straight back to icsi.
Mfi were too severe.
It would depend on age, what intervention you needed. What age gap you want.
I would also consider whether you would move on to ivf if iui is not successful as the success drops every year.

Only b and b/c this is only 29 months apart and im currently 34.
Its worth visiting gp for tests if possible as things can change a lot over a short time

Thanks naty. I think we will have one crack at IUI and one at IVF if it doesn't work, can't afford any more than that. I've got some thyroid issues I'm trying to get sorted first then I guess we will look into treatment again.

Im on thyroxine now (not for previous icsi).
Interestingly i had a lot higher fert rates but that could have been anything)
How high was your tsh last time with the 'crappy eggs'
(Mine was i think only 2.1 but i think would have risen on the ivf drugs)
It was still about the same this time though but probably more regulated due to the medicine.

Do you know, I can't remember the TSH level at all, but I'm sure it was done as part of the fertility work up. I didn't start feeling ill from it until after DD was born so maybe it wasn't an issue, although I did have two miscarriages prior to DD. My AMH and poor response to stimulation to drugs were more of an issue, but I would be interested to know how many women go through expensive and invasive treatment when it could be some simple thyroid issue at fault.
