Hi, I've had my coil for just over 4 years and my periods have started up again, does this mean the coil is not as efficient anymore? Can I now get pregnant with the coil fitted? ??

Okay, if you're talking about the Mirena coil, then I was told by the nurse that this could be a bit of a possibility, as the amount of hormone has been reduced over time. Although, looking at the NHS website, it should work for the full 5 years (or it isn't doing the job it's supposed to).

If you have a copper coil, then you should be okay, as that doesn't have a hormone implant as part of it.

It hasn't fell out has it which would make your periods start up again??

I'd get checked out before having sex again Grin
