Is it too dangerous to try again now??

Hello,
I'm currently thinking about trying for a baby, trouble is I had an ectopic pregnancy in August resulting in a serious life threatening operation. In which I lost an ovary. I'm fine now six months later and am eager to start trying for a baby again right away. My only question is am I playing Russian roulette with my body???? Xx
I dont want another ectopic EVER.... Any advice ill be grateful

As far as I'm aware, you would be able to have an early scan to check the baby is in the right place if you have had an ectopic before. Privately the scans cost £120

I think my partner thinks I'm being a bit speedy but I feel like this is what I want now. I know he is only trying to make sure I'm okay but I feel like if I don't take a chance I might never concieve

Sorry to hear you went through an ectopic. I had one last November. Not fun. So I take it it wasn't a tubal pregnancy if you lost an ovary? has anyone at the docs offered you a hsg test? It's the one where they release dye into your cervix and watch to see if it runs through your tubes. Might be a good idea to ask for one so you can put your mind at ease.

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do and remember that the chances of it happening again are slim. It doesn't make it less scary though - believe me, I know!
