Hi, I'm guessing I'm now in the 2WW as had positive OPK yesterday and the day before. Is there anybody that has their BFP due around the 20th and that has just started their 2WW.

Would be great to talk to stop ourselves going bonkers! What have you done this month to ttc? Anything different?

I have used OPKs and have followed the smep plan. Also drinking pineapple juice which apparently makes you produce more Ewcm and I'm taking pregnacare.

I bought first response too, although I have tummy cramps now so feeling deflated!

yorkshirelass82 · 11/02/2014 21:29

Thanks for the welcomes! Just had to Google SMEP to find out what you guys were talkinng about- doh! Glad its not just me who symptom spots, it seems impossible not to. Tho since we started TTC I seem to have nausea and cramps around the time I ovulate and just before AF which doesn't help (think the stress is aggravating my IBS) Good luck to all, so nice to have ppl to share with as seems quite a lonely sometimes apart from sharing with the other half :)

yorkshirelass82 · 11/02/2014 21:30

Btw - have a stash of cheap tests in at the ready but determined to wait til next week....somehow...

Zermatt · 12/02/2014 00:29

I'm only 4dpo and it's going sloooow. I promised myself that I'll never test until AF is actually late as I don't really see the point, but ask me again in 7 days and I might have changed my mind!

DrewsWife · 12/02/2014 01:20

I have had a realllly sh*tty day. No more bleeding, no major nausea... Nothing. Roll on Friday. I have no idea when AF is due.

mylittlesunshine · 12/02/2014 07:34

Well I caved and tested this morning but got bfn so feeling disappointed. I'm not due AF until Friday though will just need to wait and see I suppose. I absolutely hate this!

DrewsWife · 12/02/2014 08:35

You gotta wait. Grin Try again on Friday x

maeanne · 12/02/2014 11:08

Sorry to hear that mylittlesunshine. Fingers crossed that it's just too early for you. x

Bobo13 · 12/02/2014 11:33

It could definitely just be too early mylittlesunshine! See how you get on on Friday! x

DrewsWife · 12/02/2014 12:27

Just checked my apps Wink. I finished period on 23rd jan! One app has be at period yesterday and other at next week so going to Saturday test I think.

Squeakybeaky · 12/02/2014 13:48

My newest symptoms are that my cervix is low, hard and pointy which doesn't sound too nice I know! I only had a little root as was feeling quite tender down there. I have also had a teeny bit of brown, pink spotting! I am 8dpo today so guess could be an indication of Implantation bleeding. Certainly never had it before x

DrewsWife · 12/02/2014 14:02

Sounds very very positive!

I went to bathroom as felt odd. Came out with a tiny blood clot. So I'm guessing I'm out. Doctors next week thankfully so that is good news but I will still do my test on Friday anyhoo.

Bobo13 · 12/02/2014 15:29

Oh no Drewswife, sorry to hear that! Good that you've got the doctors appointment booked in.

Zermatt · 13/02/2014 07:10

Sorry to hear that Drewswife, good that you have a doctors appointment booked and can hoepfully find out a bit more. I've started getting exactly the same type of PMS symptoms that I always get around cycle day 20 so I am telling myself not to expect a BFP this month and mentally thinking of new things to add to the ttc mix for next month.

yorkshirelass82 · 13/02/2014 08:12

Hope everyone is holding on in ok, 2ww is sooo slow for me this time. I've had a lot of cramping the past couple of days and newest thing is alot of dc :s (sorry, TMI!)
(Also peeling quite a lot but this happened in Dec and in my crazy ttc brain I convinced myself I might be PG but had a urine infection instead Oops!)

Drewswife- hope you're ok?

Squeaky and anyone else testing 2mo - fingers crossed, just one more day to hold out x

impatienceisavirtue · 13/02/2014 08:57

Hope you're ok drewswife

I did an opk this morning. I'm on CD19 so obviously that is bonkers. I don't even know what possessed me. I have a testing obsession.

Squeakybeaky · 13/02/2014 10:00

Yes drewswife let us know how you are getting on! Impatience - I tested yesterday and this morning - completely ridiculous but just couldn't help myself! This waiting is driving me crazy!!!

Cineraria · 13/02/2014 10:12

Hope you get good news after all when you test Drewswife and if not, that the GP is helpful.

What are you planning to add next cycle Zermatt? I'm about the same stage as you and also trying to have a plan in mind for next month to stop me feeling too disappointed if this isn't the lucky month.

I can understand all the testing too. It's just nice to feel you're doing something even if you know it can't make a difference.

Hope to hear some happy results from tomorrow's testing!

impatienceisavirtue · 13/02/2014 10:19

I just needed to pee on something and the bulk pack of sticks was calling out to me Blush

DH says that I have a problem. It's totally normal, right? Grin

Zermatt · 13/02/2014 10:33

Cineraria, so far all I've been taking are folic acid supplements, so next cycle am going to get myself and DH on a full complement of ttc vitamins, including evening primrose as a friend recommended that. Might also investigate preseed as well. And try to eat a bit healthier and maybe cut back on soy stuff as read that's not great for fertility. Will keep up using OPKs and temping as found that quite useful. Have you tried anything special this month?

I can understand the testing. It's so frustrating waiting convincing yourself very little twinge or feeling is a sign or a symptom of being up duffed or that af is coming. DH says we should just think that we aren't rather than expect we might be.

impatienceisavirtue · 13/02/2014 10:54

Zermatt I've just switched from folic acid to TTC specific supplements (DH taking male version too). I have now convinced myself that it will, as a result, definitely happen this cycle :/

I am also full of a head cold and conked out at about 7pm until 9:30 last night. Despite the fact that I have a chronic illness that makes me tired I've also convinced myself I must be pregnant despite the fact that I won't have even implanted yet as I'm 5DPO. Dickhead that I am.

I was absolutely utterly convinced last month - and beside myself when AF came 3 days early, boo hiss.

And we're now in the position where if it happens in the next few months it will be really hard for DH to get any decent amount of time off at the birth. Sigh.

DrewsWife · 13/02/2014 11:23

You lot Make me smile!! Sadly bfn. Onwards and upwards. Will try again next month :). It's not a total loss. My boss will be happy I can work Xmas and I have a super heavy job coming up in march which involves lots of lifting. So I won't need to cancel that

I can see all the messages you are posting... Go pee on alllll the sticks!! Grin

Zermatt · 13/02/2014 12:53

I really hope it is your month impatienceisavirtue, I've been reading on these boards about reflexology as being another thing to give a go, have you tried that?

I totally empathise with the attributing each and every regular bodily function to a preggy symptom. I got a cough when I was running for a bus last month, and rather than realising I needed to get my arse back to the gym, I spent a large part of my evening googling "coughs as pregnancy symptom" :) it's so hard not to be hypersensitive to everything in the 2ww.

I don't think there is ever truely the right time to have a baby, you'll make it works when it happens. I wish we'd started trying a while back.

Cineraria · 13/02/2014 13:32

You’ll probably laugh at this, Zermatt, but we’re really trying everything we can think of or have read about. DH has wanted this for quite some time but I insisted on waiting until we’d bought a house with a garden and got married, so now that’s done, I thought I ought to show willing (especially as I’m on the old side to be starting this!) and spent the last few months looking into what would give us the best chance. The problem is, the more you read, the more complicated it gets!

I looked at my diet and made some changes and started doing some exercise for the first time since school (just yoga once or twice a week and walking 20 mins to and from work each day but better than nothing) as well as taking Pregnacare Conception and algal oil capsules (veg omega 3) and since we started trying I’ve avoided coffee, alcohol and also fenugreek sprouts, which are a favourite of mine but apparently used to bring on labour and late periods in Indian medicine (probably why they say to have a curry if your baby is overdue!). I also tried the grapefruit juice before ovulation and pineapple core afterwards; I’m not sure if it does any good but I enjoy both so why not?!

As far as tracking my cycle goes, I’m using the Fertility Friend App and recording temperatures, cervical fluid, OPK and ovulation microscope results and all kinds of symptoms that are probably entirely unrelated! Then we’re following SMEP and I stick my legs & hips in the air afterwards for a while to get things in the right place!

Hope your cold is better soon Impatienceisavirtue

Cineraria · 13/02/2014 13:37

Oh yes, reflexology should be good for hormonal things. My mum is a reflexologist but I don't want to tell her we're trying so can't ask too many questions without giving the game away!

Forgot to ask, Zermatt, did your friend say the evening primrose a general women's health thing or does it have specific effects for conception?
