Anyone else know af coming way before it's due

As the title says, after over a year of ttc and keeping track of symptoms the last few Months, I now know roughly a week before af is due that I'm not going to get a BFP and that my af is on it's way.

Does anyone else get this? The last two cycles I have had a cold sore 8 dpo and then by 9/10 dpo I get browny/pinky discharge for 6 days or so. Af not due until Monday 10th but already know it's coming next week cos of cold sore and start of a browny discharge. Ah the joys eh.

It's a strange feeling

so far I've always know when I was pg and when my period was coming. I've lost the plot when af was late but I still knew it was coming and to reign in my hopes. My problem this month seems to be that I ovulated, I'm guessing, about a week early. Good luck op.

Yep, I know at least a week before. My AF cramps, although very similar to pregnancy cramps are just different so I know I'm not going to get my bfp. Doesn't stop me praying though.

Haven't always, but I'm now starting to spot about 2-3 days before period.

5-6 days of spotting is quite extended though. Have you had investigations?

Hi thanks for your replies all. It's not really spotting to be honest it's more like browny cervical mucas really. Spoke to doc who said he didn't really know what it was but wasn't concerned. Has happened the last few cycles so getting used to it now.

I was on the pill for about 12 years so my body seems to throw me a new symptom every month. Had progesterone tests and all clear and waiting on sperm results so all going the right way. I'm actually now so fed up with it all now think I have given up all together. If it's meant to be then it will happen.

butler - that is what mine is like. It's often quite creamy.

Are your smears up to date? Mine weren't and doctor stressed I had to have one. I did and the results have just come back abnormal and I have to go for colposcopy. I have no idea if they are related, but thought I'd mention it.

Butler4 · 03/02/2014 21:46

Yeah thanks for that, they are up to date. Roughly 5 years ago I had an abnormal smear test and had a colposcopy and then ended up having laser treatment because of the abnormality. So now I get smear tests every year just to check and everything has been ok since.

The plot thickens eh, it's good to speak to others about this type of thing as it's not the kind if conversation you have randomly! Lol!

There is another thread about spotting on the board…

I've never had a colposcopy and it's thrown me a bit as all I want to do is concentrate on ttc and this is going to really interfere. I know I have to make it my priority, but my ttc journey is taking too long now and I'm starting to get deflated….

Butler4 · 03/02/2014 22:05

Oh I'm sorry to hear that, at least if you get it done now it gets it out the way and means you don't have the worry of what if hanging over you whilst ttc. That way you should get some answers as well, it hopefully won't take too long. I know how hard it is trying for so long and not getting anywhere. Hopefully the waiting will all be worth it for us all.

Patience is my worst quality so it has helped me work on that if nothing else. As well as drove me insane
