I've come for a bit of a mutter if that's ok. Is it just me or do some of you find that some people just have no clue about how sensitive a subject ttc is?
A close friend started ttc a month or so after us, we had spoken about it often and both knew the other was ttc. Her and her DH were lucky enough to conceive on cycle 1 and she is now about 16 weeks, we are delighted for them but I will admit to being a tad envious. We speak often although we don't live near each other since DH and I moved over Christmas. I had backed off from the ttc chat since she announced her pregnancy but thought she knew we were finding it quite tough. But today she's text me basically saying "any updates Mrs?" I replied and just said something along the lines of "
nothing new here, but at least I can drink wine on my birthday next week!" Her reply was basically to tell me that we can't be having enough sex and need to get more practise in! I could only reply with a smile to be honest, I didn't know what else to say. I think it was probably meant in jest and I've taken it the wrong way but goodness how I envy her theory, and that's after we've only been trying for 6 months which I realise is short for some people!
