Ovulation confusion!! Help!!

Hi everyone, I have just joined today as I have seen previous posts on here in relation to various aspects of ttc and I have a few questions that I hope some one can help with.
I came of the pill on the 1st jan, I then had a bleed from the 6th - 11th so I thought that would make the 6th cd1... However I started (warning tmi coming up) bleeding again on the 24th jan but it was all dark brown blood and very light up until yesterday when it became like a normal period, heavy and with lots of cramps, so my question is this month is cd1 the 24th? Or the 30th when I had proper heavy bleeding?? This is all quite confusing to me, any help would be great :) thanks xx

Hey lolly - I think the general rule is that cd1 is the first day you have red bleeding, brown blood doesn't really count. If you've been on the pill for a while it might take you a few months to get into a 'normal' cycle again, so don't worry too much about odd periods just for now, but do keep a track of dates and the type of bleed you've had so you can monitor it as you go on. Hi Lollypopz, my cd1 is also on 30/31 January after waiting months for my period to start after coming off the pill! Good luck with your first cycle trying!
